I have told you not to take things personally because it is your ego that makes things personal. It is your ego that singles you out. But now I will tell you that there are some things that are personal to you.

The rays of the moon enter your bedroom at night. They are meant personally for you.

The Sun's rays fall on you during the day.

Breezes blow on you.

These are personally for you.

Awareness of this personalness does not address your ego. It addresses truth. The love of the universe is precisely for you.

Your ego does not leave your awareness easily. It wants to stick with you. Because you believed your ego was you, you were afraid to let go of it. Truly, life conspires to get you away from your ego. Everything that you see as defeat in your life or obstacle or undoing has been to undo your ego, its hold on you, and your hold on it. Ego is a master of deception. Your ego certainly has deceived you.

Sometimes you think your veneer is your strength, but veneer is only a thin coat and is easily chipped. And then you feel depressed. But veneer is not your strength, and it never was. Veneer is your peeling ego, and when your ego is peeled, you feel depressed.

Congratulate pangs of depression because they let you know that your ego has been chipped. You, the heart of you, cannot be depressed, because you, the heart of you, is inviolate. Only that thin skin of ego can feel depressed. Some picture that you made in your mind started to dissolve. Its dissolution is inevitable.

Sometimes you think you have really achieved something when you contact Me, but you have done nothing. I contacted You. You picked up the phone. I was your allowance. You let Me in, which was no achievement on your part. It was no achievement at all. Letting Me in is nothing to be amazed at.

The wonder is that you don't let Me in more often, or all the time. You can be amazed at your restriction of your allowance of God. That is truly an accomplishment.
