Whatever the world does, however it may seem that the world holds you back, you are the one holding yourself back or moving yourself forward. In good fortune or in what you see as bad fortune, you are the diviner of your own life. Perhaps you listen too much to the world. Perhaps you fear the world and prefer to stay in your own safe corner and, so, you deflect life. Perhaps you hide from it. Perhaps you would rather defer from life than to progress in it.

Divinity
I don't know how this would work out in other languages, but I believe the word "diviner" is used here in English purposely. Yes, there is a side to this word that carries an association of knowledge gained from a possibly godless realm, but this is at one end of a continuum of meaning. At the other end is the Divine, the Source of these very words we are discussing.
And somewhere toward the middle from there is us, the divine with a small "d", like God gets the big "Y" in "You" and we get the little one. One of the core lessons that God trys to get into our thick heads is that underneath the ego and the intellectualization and the arguments, we are divine in a vey real sense. With a little "d". And this means that we exercise divine control over our lives, godly control, or at least we should be if we are catching on to this strange arrangement that doesn't fit so well with the world's understanding.
So whatever word is used to translate "diviner", I believe it would be more important that it carry the idea of the Divinity we carry within us, rather than someone looking for the best place to dig a well with a forked stick. Maybe French has a word that carries both, as in English.
