Heavenletter #4589 Does Happenstance Exist?

Dear Gloria,

The fourth paragraph of this Heavenletter reads:

Not everyone regrets the same. There is no point in regretting, dear ones. Sorry is as sorry does.

I can't find the expression "Sorry is as sorry does", however, I did find an album with this title: Sorry Is As Sorry Does is the third album from folk singer Gamble Rogers.
So I take it that it is a common saying. Could you please explain?

Here is a sentence that does not seem entirely correct to me:

Beloveds, you don’t even know what the stakes are let alone always able to hit the target. Life cannot always be cornered. Perhaps what can be said is that Life Is, and Life Is What It Is. Details are not the sum of your life. Details may not apply. They may be insignificant. Details may seem like everything to you, and yet they are nothing at all.

There seems to be a word missing after "let alone".

In the meantime, Sherlock Anneke, found the explanation for Sorry is as sorry does on the internet, so this problem is solved.

The phrase is "sorry is as sorry does" and it means that apologies are only as good as the action that follows it. the talk is fine but the real sign that the person is sorry is that they change their behavior. if they say they are sorry but still do the same thing, they're not really sorry.
