I know it's me, but I just can not make sense of the ending to this sentence...."It gives you freedom, and freedom gives you recognition of what you do not yet own to but are."

Dear Nancy, I'm sure you're not the only one. Now that you mention it, I expect translators are going to come forward with the same question.
This is how I understand it. "We don't yet own to what we are." We don't admit into our consciousness what God says we are. We don't own being the Great Beings that God says we are.
In an opposite way, if I commit a crime and don't own to it, I probably convince myself I didn't do it. I won't confess to it.
Here God infers that we are more wonderful than we own to, declare, believe..

I guess the word "to" just got to me in this sentence....I'll just read it as...."of what you do not yet own, but are."...without the "to".

Yet own to is slightly different in meaning from own. It is definitely a colloquial expression.
