in the following paragraph(s):

"The thing is that you don’t always want to sit still, isn’t that so? The stillness of peace always reigns. There is no escaping it, and yet you escape it with a preponderance of the world. If you had a fortune in the bank and forgot about it, how wealthy are you?

Even if you are the healthiest person in the world but have been swayed by advertising and sentiments of the world and you are convinced you are coming down with something, how healthy are you"

I am not sure of the meaning of "coming down with something" in the context of the sentence.

Becoming ill

Indeed, MOST of the translating problems come with colloquial expressions. And translators cannot improvise with them. They cannot be avoided and you cannot just get around by guessing their meaning. And vernacular English is full of "wild card (@)" words and expressions that can be used in so many contexts with so many different meanings, like "coming down with something" It could mean to me that "you are coming down with something like a new idea or you catched something like a cold…" They are chameleon and they are hard to trap.
