Yes, of course. "Letting it ride" is a nice expression.

In french, we have the

In french, we have the expression: "Mettre la charrue devant les bœufs" which is to "put the plow before the oxes". But I agree with Gloria (and God?!) that the expression is so much more meaningful (in french and english) if we use "pulling" instead of "putting" . Because the expression basically means, for me, that you make a useless effort if you try to pull the cart (or the plow) yourself rather than letting the horses of the oxes do it for you. And also that the oxes and the horses are used to pull, not to push.
