God Has a Dream for You
When you feel unhappy, which you tend to do, look at something that makes you happy. Unhappiness is too often dwelled on. There is no point in keeping yourself locked into less than happiness. It is not at all your duty to stay unhappy as though unhappiness makes you worthy or perhaps a deeper soul. You are not wonderful to be laden with unhappiness and rue. No matter how riddled with unhappiness you may feel, it is unwise to hold onto it. Regardless of how justified you may believe you are to be unhappy, it behooves you to let go of all the symptoms you parade around with.
Which comes first, unhappiness, or your thoughts of unhappiness? Thoughts precede the recognition of unhappiness. At the same time, it does not matter which comes first. What matters is that you switch gears.
Unhappiness leads you nowhere but to self-commiseration. Feeling sorry for yourself leads you nowhere but to more of your feeling sorry for yourself. This is not a good place to be. Regardless of how well you deem yourself justified, you’ve got to get away from this platform of justification that you may like to stand on. You have to get away from this justification because it takes you nowhere but down a rocky path.
Truly, there is no justification for carrying self-pity around as if it were a virtue when it can only be a roadblock to happiness. Self-pity is a sure way to unhappiness. You tax yourself way too much. Accept that feeling good is far better than feeling bad. Don’t keep registering resentment or recrimination on yourself or anyone. Feeling bereft of happiness is an unsubstantial life process. If you are standing in the way of your happiness, you do indeed need to get out of your way. Why on Earth would you choose to support unhappiness when you could let go of it?
What is it that you have to choose before choosing happiness? I am sure that you know two and two are four, yet reasons for misery add up to misery, not heroism. Do you really want to be downtrodden? Certainly, this is not the vision I hold you in. I have better dreams for you, I have a better dream for you.
My dream is that you be full of grace and glory and that you rise in your own estimation. My vision is that you rise out of the valley of the vainglorious and that you leave vanity and hurt feelings behind.
If you wish to be a collector of anything, collect anything else but hurt and mistreatment in your heart. Nor do I ask you to be noble. Who are you to be noble or unforgiving or bereft of the finer values in life?
I dream of you as a Knower of Reality who travels freely without encumbrance. This is the least I ask of you. I ask you to remove debris from your path. Do you think I have asked you to clutter your life with grievance? I have asked you to hold your head high and your shoulders back. I never asked you to be bent over with round shoulders or walk confusedly.
I tell you outright that you are to hold your head high. You are to let go of smallness in all its forms. Stinginess of love is not the making of you.
I am to be the making of you. I am the God Who Made You. I made you in My image. I am not a God of smallness, nor are you to reflect anything that is not for a grand purpose. Begin now. Get over the past.
