Dear Señora,

I just started to translate today's Heavenletter #2971 for my wife as I sometimes do out of fondness for her and for a HL that holds special meaning for me (making it more personal than just printing an extant translation, especially when there isn't one yet), and find myself gagging on the title - You Are Many-Dimensioned Facets of Yourself. I know you have chosen it to capture as much as possible of what is said in this HL, but it sounds so technical! I suppose there is nothing that can be done about it now, but since you said you would like to hear my suggestions, there are several that look simple and meaningful to me, for instance:

You Are the Honorable King or Queen
You Are All that Is
You Are the Desert and the Oasis
Everything Is You. All Are You
You Are Myself
And my secret favorite but perhaps not the most suitable one: Nothing Is Happening, Nothing at All

Much love for a one-armed pandit,
Jochen

Ah, titles of Heavenletters.

Ah, titles of Heavenletters.

Before I tell about titles, let me say how dear you are to make a special translations for your beloved wife. That is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard. A very special translation meant just for your wife. She must be a treasure.

Titles have had a transition, and I will tell you about it.

It sometimes happens that a title for a Heavenletter comes the same way the Heavenletters do. It's just there, and that's that. Once in a blue moon, the title seems to come before the Heavenletter itself.

But most of the time it seems up to me to choose a title.

What I used to do is just keep trying titles until there was one I could keep. Sometimes this came easily, and sometimes not. A title was chosen totally by feeling.

Then I went through a stage where I entitled Heavenletters really with a list of topics contained within the Heavenletter. It wasn't a real title at all. (By the way, these topic-type titles have been replaced with real titles. You probably have not seen any of these topic titles.

These Heavenletters were the early ones. These were before it occurred to me to number the Heavenletters. These now are called Heaven Sutras. They will have their own numbers and will be available for you to search from as soon as we can.

Along the way, Annette, Heaven's archivist, came on the scene. She discovered I too often repeated a title, sometimes several times, and for the sake of archiving, every Heavenletter has to have its own title. So some titles had to be changed.

What also happened is that Annette suggested that using exact words from a Heavenletter would work best for the search engines. I've been trying to do that.

Sometimes it's so easy to find a title this way that I really like. Sometimes I have difficulty finding one.

This particular title -- You Are Many-faceted Dimensions of Yourself -- it never occurred to me that it it was technical. If I had thought that, I don't think I would have used it.

I appreciate that you mentioned this, Jochen. I will put more attention on titles and try to free myself to intuitively think of a title rather than necessarily finding one from within the Heavenletter.

I myself favor the wildly poetic titles, and sometimes I have to rein myself in a little.

Interestingly, along with your question about titles, two other questions came in today relating to the writing of Heavenletters themselves. I love this kind of question.

This particular title -- You

I'm not going to say that your wonderful rewording of the title proves my point, no no, I'm not going to say that!

And seriously, thank you for your detailed explanation. How can you write so much with one hand?

A very tender (and left-sided) hug

Well, Jochen, I was unaware

Well, Jochen, I was unaware that I had reworded the title!

Even with the immobilizer, especially when I stand at the computer, I can type with the fingers of my right hand too. I learned touch-typing, and I'm lost at the computer if I can only use one hand. You may have noticed that my first entry on the blog after the accident had about two sentences only, typed with my left hand without capital letters and punctuation!

Good to hear you can use

Good to hear you can use your right hand. Yes, I clearly remember that first blog entry and what it felt like.....

Talking about titles, I just

Talking about titles, I just translated Heavenletter #2874 which is entitled 'Little Miss Muffet". Now, this title doesn't have any reference in Italian, and if I kept it, I should give a lengthy explanation to the Italian readers in a note after the actual Letter. I've done this in previous occasions, but I noticed that the note was cancelled when the translation was sent to the subrscibers. So I changed the title to "The positions in the dance of life", which seems appropriate to me, given the text of the Letter. I hope this is OK with you, Gloria. (The translation has not gone out yet, so if you want me to keep the old title, I can still fix it.)

Love,
Paula

Cara Paula, certainly, in a case like this, a change in the title has to be made, and I so appreciate your letting me know. I'll just run a few of my immediate thoughts past you.Probably good for us to keep track of this in some way. One thought is to put original title in parentheses after your new title. How does that feel?

If you've already sent out your translation, that's just fine too!

How long have you been translating Heavenletters, beloved Paula? Is it six years? I believe you are Heaven's first translator, and I know you have faithfully translated every day. We're so grateful.

God bless you.

With love, Gloria

I don't remember how long

I don't remember how long I've been translating Heavenletters, but I am certainly grateful for every single one of them and for every single day when I had them to translate.

I will add the original title in parenthesis after the Italian one, as you suggest, Gloria.

With love,
Paula
