Bamboo, Dandelions, and Roses
You can view your heart like bamboo that grows fast and renews itself. And how do things grow, beloveds? They grow upward. Bamboo has roots, yet it is always growing upward toward the sun. What posture bamboo has. Its branches help it to keep its balance. What a brush stroke each leaf is. Each leaf is a brush stroke that paints itself. Look at how each leaf turns this way and that. Look at the varying shades of green.
How admirable is bamboo. How admirable is every growing thing. How admirable is a dandelion who digs its roots deep and reaches high. Its yellow face turns to the sun to catch every ray of its counterpart, the sun. We can say that the dandelion basks in the sun. Bamboo basks in the sun. Everything that grows basks in the sun, the yellow sun that gives itself to all and makes all mighty in its radiance.
Consider the fair rose that also basks in the sun. Does the sun love the rose more because of its beauty touted in the world? The sun discerns beauty everywhere in every growing thing. As each flower reaches high toward the sun, it also bows its head to the sun at the same time.
Bamboo, dandelions, and roses nourished by the sun accept the sun's rays and flourish. There is enough sun for all. Who is more devoted, the plants that grow, or the sun? There is no more or less. There is simply the splendor of love fully given and fully accepted.
We can say that the sun is at one end of the seesaw, and the plants that grow on the other end. How they balance each other. How they enjoy. This is no performance, beloveds, yet how you love to watch this love of nature, in love with itself, and everything is itself. This is no act at all, and yet it is an eternal act of love, playing and interplaying, love in love with itself, not even knowing who is who or what is what. The growing things splash in the rays of the sun, as it were, and good fun is had by all.
And you too play in the sun, and yet sometimes you forget it. You go out in the sun and yet do not give it the time of day. It shines on you, and often you forget to look up. As you rise in the morning, the sun is rising with you. The sun never fails to shine on you, and yet you do not always look up, nor do you give reverence to the sun that reverences you. I am talking literally about the yellow sun in the sky. Perhaps today you will remember the sun. It is much more than a beach ball, the sun that shines its light on you. Nod to the sun every now and then.
Regardless, you absorb its rays. A little recognition is in order. The sun that bows to you is higher in the physical plane, and yet you and the sun stand on equal footing. The sun is a light in the sky that tosses its light all over the Earth, and you are a light on Earth that also lights up the Earth and all that live on it. That you are the light of the world is not an empty statement, beloveds. You are the light of the world. You, who are the light of world, are also the light of My heart. Shine on, beloveds. Shine on. Light reflects, and it exchanges itself until no one knows whose light is Whose and what does it matter when all is light and nothing but light.
