Background Music

God said:

Hail to your heart, this wonderful plum of a heart that We share. Be heart-minded, beloveds. Favor your heart.

When something bothers you, it is very likely that when you talk to Me about it, you will feel better about it. What will be changed quickly is how you feel. A lot depends upon how you feel. How you feel sets the mood for your life. How you feel is like background music in a movie. In movies, there is the ominous music that tells you something untoward is going to happen. There is also the music that bodes well, and many varieties in between. The music that plays in a movie foreshadows events. Well, what type of events would you like to foreshadow in your life, beloveds?

Beloveds, you can have sadness, and still be of good cheer. This doesn’t mean you fake cheerfulness. You simply are favoring it, the way you would choose one of two dresses to wear. Why favor fear and grumpiness?

Let’s face it. Life in the world is uncertain. I would say to count your blessings ahead of time, and let the troubles take care of themselves. Do not be forewarned. It’s possible you can avoid upset, but even when you cannot, why welcome what you don’t want ahead of time? What is the gain? so that you, with some kind of triumph, can identify yourself as realistic? Have you thought it was smart to be a doom-sayer?

Life on Earth is not meant to be lived by avoiding it. Life is not meant to be avoided. It is meant to be lived. When you are fearful, you are trying to avoid. Doesn’t it make sense to enter life without fear on your mind? Your mind has been danger-filled. Start filling your mind with what you want.

Certainly, you can look at life as though it were a minefield, fraught with danger and missteps. But why do that?

It is quite certain that the body you presently live in will draw its last breath. Must you live for that? Must you keep thoughts of death as a flag before you and engage yourself in the event long before its time? No one knows the moment of death. It could be fifty years from now, or it could be tomorrow. Is it not wise then to enjoy today? Is it foolish to be free from fear? Why would you make fear your master over joy?

You are in for a ride. Let it be a joyride. Sure, the road can be bumpy. Do you have to think of the bumps more than the joy? What if you did avoid all the bumps? Certainly, that would not make for an enjoyable ride. Avoiding conceived danger avoids joy as well. Life is meant to be an adventure.

What is going to be the focus of the ride you are on? You could spend it worrying that you will run out of gas or get a flat tire. There could be lions and tigers. There could be germs. You could catch a cold. There could be wrong turns. There could be road signs that spell danger. There could be no road signs at all, and you would fear getting lost. I do not need to point out to you all the possible dangers, for you have been quite thorough about that without My help.

Change the record you play. There could be fair skies. There could be sunrises and sunsets of incredible beauty. There could be high noon. There could be laughter. There could be walks down winding paths that lead to spring water. You could walk with confidence. You could look up at Heaven. You could bless yourself. You could bless the earth you walk on. You could play the music you want to hear.

Music that bodes well

The music I want to hear.
Dear God, I will admit now that I start hearing it that it has been playing, playing.
Resigned to seeming inevitable cacophony so many years ago, deeming it realistic.
No matter.
There can still be walks down winding paths that lead to spring water.
Right now it's this balmy summer morning and a soft breeze rustling in the foliage of the old pear tree outside my open study window and the dance of lights and shadows and fingers on this keybord.
Dear heart, will you please go on hearing this music, rain or shine
