Will you just be with Me today? Can We be like old friends who don’t have to talk a lot? Can We just be silent together in the immediacy of Our love? Can We be Oneness today? Can We do somersaults today? Can We simply wend Our way through this day, taking it as it comes, not rating it, just letting it be?

In any case, We take a walk together, you and I. Let’s enjoy it. Let’s just ooh and aah and see only what’s graceful.

Point out the sights that give Us joy, and leave the others alone.

Let the face We see be old and wrinkled and still be beautiful. There is only one face in all the world like the face We see this minute on Our walk. We are walking together, beloveds. What sights do you want to point out to Me?

I doubt you are going to say: “Oh, God, look at that fright over there!” You wouldn’t, would you?

I doubt you would say, “Oh, God, see all the litter in the streets.”

I doubt you would say, “Oh, God, look at all the poverty. See the war-torn world over there. See the heartache here. See the agony.”

To be fair to the world, would you not point out something else to Me?

Might you say, “Look, God, there, there is a tree. Look, God, there are children playing. Hear the sounds of their love of life.”

Might you say, “Look, God, We, you and I, are walking together. I am going to see through Your eyes. I am going to let You point out the sights to me. I am quietly going to walk alongside You. I am going to see the world You created, and say, ‘Oh, yes, it is beautiful.’ After all, God, what can the matter be when You walk with me?

“How can my nose be out of joint when Almighty God walks amiably beside me? What sight is not layered in light as You pass by it? It must be that I walk in Your light. Your light, not shadow, falls upon me.

“You tell me that I am the love of your life. Is there anything else I need to hear? Is it not incumbent upon me to delight in the world You fashioned and gave to us to frolic in?

“God, You gave us life. You gave us everything. If every man knew he was loved by You and worthy of the love You give, what blight then could there be upon the world? What error or travesty would there be to see? What damage would anyone do, or even think of doing? Who would not be a White Knight in Shining Armor? There would be no one to duel with, of course. No damsels to save. All would be for the pure joy of it. All of life would become like a parade. We’d all be in it, and we’d all watch it.

“Or life would be like a musical, the greatest musical in the world! There would be singing. There would be dancing. There would be laughing. There would be choruses who hold hands. The audience would clap and call out, ‘Encore. Encore.’

“There would be a new matinee every day. No one would know the difference between what played on stage and what played in the streets. What would the difference be, and who would care? There would be joy heaped upon joy. All hearts would be singing until nothing else could be heard. Your light, God, would be so bright that there would be nothing else to see. Joy and Your Light would dance together, and all hearts would beat as One.”
