A Swim in the Ocean of Love
Remember the simple things. They are to savor.
What is complicated complicates. Simplicity simplifies.
You really do not want complexity.
In all areas of life, simplify.
It is symbolic to say to travel with your feet bare and a knapsack over your shoulder, or a little carpet to roll your belongings up in, and doesn't that sing the melody of simplicity and ease in life? The lyrics read: Carry little with you.
All your belongings and all your debts are thoughts from the past. How simple your life is when you release the fingers of the past from their hold on you! You can keep your furniture and mementos and not let them possess you.
Walk forth in life as if you had no possessions and no debts, for, in truth, you have none. What does a simple man own, and what does he owe?
As of this moment, I declare you free of the concept of debt. See how more deeply you breathe.
As of this moment, I declare everyone free of the heavy sense of debt and the hold it has on you. And, so, you are also removed from the obligation of remembering that anything is owed to you. Sense of owing or being owed and sense of owning or being owned are like thin wires strapped tight around your chest. I remove these wires now, and replace them with soft ribbons of light. You are released from the bondage of the past and the emotional weight of the concept of debt and debtor.
Today you start anew as a free being which, in any case, is the truth of things. But today you know this truth, and, with alacrity, your heart leaps. Nothing can be the same today when you move forth in freedom and truth.
You are not one of many. You are not one in a sparkling million. You are One. You are My One. You are the Oneness that I AM. For a little while, you think you are a pin on the map of life on Earth. All the while, you are Everything.
You are the surf and the surfer, and you are the Ocean you ride on. What, then, are you seeking?
The Ocean you cannot keep to yourself. You cannot swim in it without splashing. And why would you? You wouldn't want to slide your way through the Ocean unnoticed. You would not like to take strokes through it alone and without splashing. The reason that loneliness is so unhappy for you is that, deep in your heart, you know that aloneness and its counterpart loneliness are not the truth and that Oneness is. Oneness is not lonely or isolated. Oneness is fullness of love and camaraderie. It is a singular gift.
There is one diver into the Ocean of Himself, and it is you (meaning I). You are the One who rises from the depths and splashes the Ocean of Himself. You pose as the whale and the minnow, mere fabrications of you. How lovely the fabrications! It is lovely to imagine all the wonders of the world, and lovelier to know that they are you, that there is nothing else in the whole world but you and I — and laughter and joy and love and more love, and more waves of the Ocean. Waves of Us furl and unfurl like flags. Waves of Us revolve themselves, rolling over in delight in the rays of the Sun and to the delight of the Sun. We sun Our One Self in the light of love, practicing feats of love in a world that declares there is little room for Us.
How simple is a swim in the Ocean of Love!
