Your New Consciousness
Enlightenment does not give you a free ride. Quite the opposite. When you become what you call enlightened, you have greater responsibility. You are not off the hook. You rise higher, and with that rise to vaster vision, you rise to greater work and greater joy. You cannot just sit on your laurels. There are no laurels to sit on.
Enlightened, do not think you have greater power. You have greater responsibility. You have greater vision, and along with that, comes greater opportunity. Let Us compare this to becoming CEO of a company. You are greatly pleased, perhaps honored, when you receive the title. Yet what does it mean that you are CEO? You have more to take care of than before you became CEO. Of course, you receive more remuneration, and yet, that is not the basis of your becoming CEO. You were not looking for just a pay raise.
The CEO does not sit back with his feet on his desk. Now he runs the company. He has more to take care of, not less. So is it with you.
Since you lost yourself, you are no longer focused on your little self. You have let it go. You see wider, and you fulfill greater. When you did not see as well as you do now, you had less responsibility. Now that you see greater, your responsibility exceeds what you dreamed of. Now everything is more than you dreamed of.
Once you were responsible for making your way in the world. Now you are responsible to the world. Now you are responsible for the Universe and all its inhabitants. Now you are responsible for Me, beloveds. Now, beloveds, you take responsibility for all that which I am responsible for.
Your new responsibility is not a chore, and yet it makes you take a deep breath. You are new to the realization of all that your new consciousness involves. Now you put your past fears behind you. You automatically throw them over your shoulder like salt. And now you have stepped into new shoes. Barefoot, you have stepped into new shoes. Your stride is greater. You have gained a kind of nobility. As a nobleman, you have more to take care of, not less.
You have more to take care of, and yet you do not toil. The engineer of a train does not work as hard as the one who stokes the engine. Your responsibility is greater. You steer the train. You meet schedules.
My son Christ is an example of one who took great responsibility, yet all he did was walk the land and congregate with people. His work was his presence. He oversaw great territory, and he worked for Me. He could not do less, nor can you. Nor can you.
When you wear a bigger size, you cannot fit into a smaller suit, even if you wore a smaller size last year. Now that you are taller, you can only be taller. You cannot make yourself shorter, nor would you wish to.
Along with the responsibility, you carry greater joy than ever before. The joy is yours, and yet it is not yours. Whatever you have now or do now, it is far more than for yourself. You lost yourself. You engage upon a greater journey now. Do not think that you are burdened. You do not carry the world on your shoulders, and yet you help Me carry the world. There is nothing else for you to do. You more than ride on the world now. You carry it, and you wonder why you ever did anything else.
