What Dreams Are For
There is so much said in the world about being grounded. It seems to Me that you have had your feet on the ground well enough. What about being Heavened? Do you really have to have your shoes flat on the ground all the time?
You know when a parent tells his child that he is grounded, it is meant to be a punishment. It means the child has infringed on something and can't be allowed to go anywhere for a while. The child is supposed to learn his lesson. He is being restricted so that later he can be free.
If you adhere to the idea that on Earth you have to be grounded, or more grounded, that being grounded is better than soaring high, then you imprison yourself. Certainly, you are denying yourself. Of course, you want your feet on the ground, but is that all? Beloveds, you also have to free yourself to reach high. Sometimes, beloveds, you have to take flight. You are not to always dig your heels in. Sometimes you are to take off, let go, leap, take a chance, stop holding on to the boundaries that the world calls reality. Down to earth is good, yet there's nothing wrong with aspiring. Aspiring may be better. With the human mind, one can be grounded and aspire at the same time.
Many of My children who are reaching for the heights have been called dreamers, as if being a dreamer were something to be frowned upon. I hope you, beloved, don't cavalierly dismiss anyone as a dreamer. Certainly, don't deny yourself the privilege of having dreams, even dreams no one ever dreamed of before. Dreams are the guiding stars of your life! Without dreams, you would stay where you are. Without dreams, where would you want to go? Dreams reveal desires, and desires are a good thing. What would have manifested if no one had dreamed of them? You are meant to have dreams. You are meant to exceed the perimeters of the world.
Without dreams, you would be heavy-footed. Tied tightly to the ground, you would be leaden. I say again, What about being Heavened? Certainly you would be light of foot in Heaven. Even on your way to Heaven, you would be light-footed. Your heart is connected to all this. You wouldn't think you are always to be down-hearted or heavy-hearted. Surely you deserve to be light-hearted. Your heart is entitled to have its way, and its way is that it is just fine to look higher than the ground. Why, if you are always looking down because you heard it was good to or for any reason, think of all that you would miss. Ground is good, and the sky is too.
Being grounded is a way to say: "Stay locked in the world's boundaries. Go no further. Don't dare. You might be laughed at."
Beloveds, dreams are the avenue by which you do go further. Dreams are the rudder of the ship of life. What uncharted lands will you travel to? What horizons will you open up for others to see? What mountains will you climb? What gold will you discover? What new treasures are there that have not yet been found? How do you know what is ahead of you unless you venture there? How do you know what possibilities there are unless you open your heart to them? What are you withholding that is yours to give?
Who catches fish unless he goes fishing and casts his line in the water?
It's not that all your dreams have to come true. It's that you have to have them.
