The Momentum of Life

God said:

There is a centrifugal force in life, and sometimes you feel whipped around by it. The momentum of life is great, and you get caught up in it, and the details may overwhelm. You think of all you have to do, and the thinking about it floors you more than the actuality. One foot can only go in front of the other. You know how to walk. Live your life the same.

When you are walking to Main Street, you walk. You do not think: “Oh, dear, how many steps will it take for me to get there? How am I ever going to move my legs so many times? What if there is a delay? a detour? What if I can’t get there? What if I get there and haven’t gone the right way? What if I step on a crack in the sidewalk? What if I have the wrong street? What if I have too much to do?”

In other matters in life, you do think like that, and, in so doing, you breed anxiety.

If you are too much caught up in the world, sit down on a park bench. The world and your life are not dependent upon all that you have accepted as yours to do. The world will not break in half because you don’t get something done, or done the way you like. Allow yourself some imperfection.

You do not have to climb the highest mountain. You do not have to have perfect gear. The tension of anxiety produces a friction that rubs your life the wrong way.

Sun rises, snow falls, flowers bloom, all without your say.

Make the circumference of your life gentle and easy-going. Stroll through life. You do not have to make a mad dash. You are not Atlas to carry the weight of the world, not even your own little territory of the world. Everything does not have to be done ahead of time. Everything does not have to be done on time. And you don’t have to do everything you have assigned yourself to do.

When you feel pressured, take the lid off, beloveds. Do not be a whistling teapot on the stove. Take yourself off the stove. Be tea that steeps for a while.

When you are running and feel out of breath, you know enough to stop a while to catch your breath. You do not frantically have to keep running. In life, it is your own thoughts that run you ragged. Nothing else does.

I am not asking you to control more. I am asking you to control less. Be more and seethe less. Let go of control that you have imposed upon yourself. That you can control is a fallacy anyway. Be truthful. You might as well let go of the reins you hold. They are not connected to anything anyway. You only pretend that you lead the horse of life. Life isn’t really going to go anywhere without you. You can let go of it. You can let it be itself. Do not hold on so tight. You do not have to keep everything in place.

Consider yourself your employer, and treat yourself right. Give yourself a break. You are not a machine that has to keep running at full capacity every moment. You are a Human Being. Be a calm one. Know your place in the universe. Know your place in My heart.

Make your life a hacienda, not a factory.

Make a hammock of your life.

Sit in the shade a while.

Fan yourself.

Let your life be a gentle breeze. No more storms.

Come, spend your life with Me.

Humor is something I miss a little bit in these Heavenletters. Today I found something in this one that immediately started a little film in my head which made me laugh out loud:

"You might as well let go of the reins you hold. They are not connected to anything anyway."

Thank you, God, for your invitation. I accept.
