The Coattails of Ego

God said:

Anxiety is chronic fear. It is fear unlabeled. It is being on the lookout for fear. It is conviction that fear and cause for fear are sure to come or have come or have come again or have continued their presence. Anxiety is a conclusion you make. Anxiety is a ghost of fear. You do not have to have it. You can relieve yourself of it.

Anxiety and fear do not really have to do with you. Consider them fleas. They may bite you and live off you, but they are foreign to you. They do not belong to you.

Every time fear or anxiety bite you, put on a salve of remembrance of Me, and they will go away. They are external to you. They are not intrinsic to you.

Put fear and anxiety in the trash. You do not need them for survival or for anything. You do not need them at all. Do not make them so welcome as you have.

You can relegate them to their rightful place which is no place with you. You may feel them, but you do not have to listen to them. You do not have to let them take over your life and squeeze the life out of it. You do not need to harbor them. You do not need to be a port of call for them. You do not need to wholesale them or retail them or be a way station for them. You do not have to pass them on. You do not have to give them credence.

Do not turn so-called mistakes into fear. Errors are erroneous. Because you have run your hand through water in one direction and not another, what difference does that make to the water? Your hand only passed through it, and the water remains water and is unchanged by your hand. Mistakes are no more than that. Where do they exist but in the mind of man?

Mistakes may lead you to change your course. Well, then, love your mistakes rather than fear them. You moved your hand through the water one way a moment ago, and now you move it another.

Anxiety does not have to take over. Anxiety does not have to be your captain nor your companion. Do not make it so welcome. Don't make so much room for it.

When it comes to your door, you do not have to let it in. You do not have to close the door in its face either. You can let it try to sell what it wants to sell, and then you can say, "No, thank you." And anxiety will go on its way. It is random. It doesn't care where it goes. It will go wherever it is accepted, and it will make itself at home anywhere and flourish where it is made welcome.

If you have made anxiety welcome, you do not have to continue to do so. You can send it on its way. You can send it packing.

It is time for anxiety to move on.

It has no rightful place with you.

Do not miss it. Do not feel guilty to be anxiety-less rather than anxiety-ridden. Anxiety does not have to be your escort. You really and truly don't need it. It has been a scavenger and has used you for its own end, for you see, anxiety is a hanger-on of ego.

It holds the coattails of ego.

Anxiety has no existence of its own. It goes under false colors. It delivers garbled messages so you will keep listening to it. Turn your ear toward Me, and you will hear Me. Make no mistake about that. Allow thoughts of Me to replace anxiety. Give Me the attention you have given anxiety, and you will be the flourisher.
