On the Ocean of Life

God said:

With every breath you take, you are taking in a breath of life. You breathe in air, yet it is life you are really breathing in. We are speaking of life, this gift of life. Think of what you are participating in, beloveds. You are participating in the magnificence of life. This is a onetime offer in this lifetime. There is no other offer like it. Avail yourself of life in this lifetime.

I have suggested that you not take life so seriously. At the same time, life is not to be taken frivolously either. Life deserves more than a giggle. Life deserves more than a shrug as well. It deserves more than a heavy heart. It deserves more than pretense. It deserves joy.

Do not think of life as an undertaking. Think of it as though you are on a cruise ship. Everyone plays his part on a cruise. Even the passengers play their part. The passengers pay for the cruise in money. They present themselves to be entertained. And yet everyone on deck pays for the cruise through their presence and service. Everyone really shares the same role. That role is to enjoy. Whatever your particular responsibilities are, you are on the ship to enjoy. That goes for whether you are the captain, a steward, a stowaway, the one who swabs the deck, the cook, a pirate, the youngest or oldest passenger on the ship, a pickpocket in the brig, a photographer, a dancer or singer in the chorus. Regardless, your main purpose is to enjoy, and to give joy.

This is simple enough, isn’t it? Is it so hard? Remember this once in a while. Remember what you are here for.

When you find yourself taking life very very seriously, smile then. Let your smile be a signal to return to joy. When you see others not enjoying, give them a smile. Your smile might turn that person’s whole day around, and yours too. Certainly, you will be reflecting Me.

Would you not like to be someone who gives joy? This is not quite the same as being a reveler or merrymaker. There is no effort in what I am talking about. I do not ask for a semblance of cheer from you. I ask for the real thing. Let yourself enjoy.

Receive joy. Enjoy.

Maybe you want to dance. Maybe you want to look at the moon. Maybe you want to read a book. Maybe you want to talk one on one. Whatever gives you joy, avail yourself of it. You are not performing, beloveds. You are living. You are alive on the ocean of life. Hold a steady course.

No matter how high the waves, or what storm may come, hold a steady course. Your rudder is joy. The steady course you set is joy. Allow the joy. Let joy come along with you.

I am your mate, beloveds. If you are the captain, I am your mate. If you are the passenger, I am your mate. No matter what appearance you may have, I am your mate. I am your mate for life. I am with you through thick and thin. Be with yourself as well.

Be authentic. If you are unhappy, you are not authentic. You are off on a detour. You are trying out the role of tragedian. If you are laughing every minute, you are not authentic either. You may be trying out playing the role of someone who personifies happiness every moment. Play no roles, beloveds. Be joyful. Have joy and give it.

I will not speak about my

I will not speak about my being "not authentic" because I'm "not authentic" quite often, and while I'm "not authentic", especially when I'm very "not authentic", it doesn't feel "not authentic"  a t   a l l !!!  Interestingly, the more "not authentic" I am, the more "not authentic" smiling can feel. So perhaps how to make your smile a genuine one is the only problem in the world.

No, I'd much rather dwell on what is, for this foreigner, a very interesting use of the word "mate" (interesting because, in German, we have Maat only as "deck officer on a ship"). When I look up "mate", what a wealth of meaning! And the most interesting is the origin of the word:

"ORIGIN late Middle English : from Middle Low German māt(e), ‘comrade,’ of West Germanic origin; related to meat (the underlying notion being that of eating together)."

I loved your 'I will not

I loved your 'I will not speak about my being "not authentic"' it gave me an authentic smile :-)

Very interesting about 'mate' in fact it just goes to show there is even oneness in words when we look in to them deeply

Just BE and ENJOY... nothing

Just BE and ENJOY... nothing could be simplier.

What beauty, what wonder, what glory... Thank you God

ON THE OCEAN OF LIFE

DEAREST CREATOR AND MAESTRO, YES, THERE MUST BE SOMETHING QUITE
MAGICAL, CREATIVE AND MIRACULOUS ABOUT TAKING IN EACH BREATH WE BREATHE. NOW, WE HAVE SOMEHOW LOST THE REALIZATION OF WHAT A SACRED
GIFT LIFE IS FOR US! THE PURPOSE OF LIVING THE MAGNIFICENCE OF LIFE
IS, AS YOU SAY, TO RECEIVE JOY AND TO GIVE JOY.

SO YOU SUGGEST WE DON'T PLAY ROLES, - RATHER THAT WE OUGHT TO FULLY
PARTICIPATE IN LIFE. WE BREATHE AND WE THEREFORE ANNOUNCE THAT WE
ARE HERE TO ENJOY THE ASTONISHING GIFT LIFE IS.

YOU SAY IF I AM UNHAPPY, THEN I'M OFF ON SOME DETOUR. JUST KNOWING
YOU ARE MY MATE IN THIS GIFT CALLED LIFE, OUGHT TO BRING ME GREAT REASSURANCE. AND THEREFORE JOY!! BELOVED CREATOR, I EXPERIENCE
PAIN IN EVERY STEP. WITH SOME CRAZY, UNNECESSARY SURGERY I WAS
DELIVERED TO THIS PAIN. I TRY NOT TO REGRET, BUT I CAN'T STOP,
FOR THE PAIN KEEPS ME REGRETTING.

I STOP NOW IN THE TAKING IN OF THIS HEAVENLY LETTER YOU DELIVER TO ME
AND TO ALL WHO DESIRE TO READ THEM, AND I PRAY THAT THE PAIN WILL
SOON BE ALLEVIATED SOMEHOW. I AM INFINITELY LUCKY TO HAVE ONE SUCH
AS YOU AS MY BELOVED MATE. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE WORD LUCKY
COMES FROM THE FRENCH WORDS 'LUC' WHICH MEANS LIFHT! YOUR WHOLE
THOUGHT SYSTEM IS LIGHT. WE GRATEFULLY RECEIVE DEVOTION FROM EACH
OTHER. THANK YOU FOR THAT!

Can you please give scripture and verse when you write? It helps Christians to line everything up with scripture.

Beloved Bee Jay, your

Beloved Bee Jay, your question has touched my heart. It is such a sweet and simple question, and it says a lot about you and your love of God and how much the scriptures mean to you.

There are two answers to your dear question that I can offer.

One is that Heavenletters and this forum are not religious. This is not an affront to religion. People from all religions and from no religion come here, and we want everyone to be comfortable and welcome here. We certainly want you to be comfortable here. We want everyone to be included here and no one to feel left out.

God, by whatever name we may call Him, is here. God in Heavenletters does not require beliefs from us or observances, and yet by reading Heavenletters, He brings us closer to Him. Little by little, without asking anything of us, He brings us closer to Him and our brothers and sisters in the world we live in.

The second answer I can give is that I know very little. I don't begin to know enough to line up what God expresses in Heavenletters with what is in the scriptures. What an interesting suggestion!

Perhaps some day someone will do that -- take the truths from Heavenletters and link them with similar truths from the Bible or the Koran or the Bhagavad Gita or any holy text.
That would be a lovely thing. Yet that is not our province here.

How did you come across Heavenletters, dear one?

With love and blessings,

Gloria
