A Lesson Of Value

A LESSON OF VALUE

Do you know what I would do, if I could live my life all over again? I would go to bed when I am sick, instead of pretending the Earth would go to pieces and my family would not survive, if I was not there for the day. I would burn the pink candle that is sculpted like a rose, before it melted in storage. I would talk less and listen more. I would invite friends over to dinner, even if our carpet was stained or our sofa faded. I would eat the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worry much less about the dirt, when someone wants to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would take the time to listen to my grandfather ramblings about his youth. I would share more of the responsibility carried by my husband. I would never insist that the car windows should be closed on a summer’s day, because my hair had just been done. I would sit on the lawn without minding the grass stains. I would laugh and cry less watching television and more through observing the world around me. I would never buy anything merely because it is practical, does not get dirty too easily or is guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I would cherish every moment and treasure taking part in the miracle that is growing inside me. I would be proud to be a woman and feel honoured for one of God’s greatest mysteries was being created through me. I would never call my monthly cycle ‘the curse’, because I would know that it is part of the great wisdom that brings into being the wonder and miracle of God’s beautiful Creation. When my children kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, ‘Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.’ There would be more ‘I love you’ and more ‘I’m sorry.’ But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute; look at it and really see it; live it and never give it back.

Stop sweating over the small things! Don’t worry about who does not like you, who has more, or who is doing what. Instead, cherish the relationships you have with those who do love you. Think about what God has blessed you with, and what you are doing each day to create good health on all levels of your being, mentally, physically, and emotionally – but most of all spiritually. Get hold of the good things in this earthly life while you are in it; be grateful for them and give thanks to our Father/Mother Creator for giving them to you. Make the most of everything that has been given to you, before your time runs out.
That is what I wrote when my physical body was dying from cancer. Now that I am in the world of spirit, my message to you is a different one. Do not be afraid of death! I came to the other side and thought: ‘Why, there is nothing to it! I did not feel anything! Apart from having no pain, I do not feel any different! I am the same I always was!’ It’s really beautiful here, too. Everything I loved and treasured on the other side, I also have with me here. All the loved ones that ever left me and even the pets I lost are now with me. Had I known all that, I would not have worried about death and I would not have been afraid of illness. Who knows? My body might never have got developed cancer. And I certainly would not have struggled and fought when the Angel came to take me home; I would just have let go.

Mind you, that has been the main lesson I came to learn in physicality; I will certainly know better next time round. Do not believe it when anyone says to you that we come into Earth life with nothing, and that we leave it in the same state. Take it from me: that is just not true! We are spirit and soul; we are consciousness and that is what we bring with us into each new lifetime. The learning we draw from all the experiences of every one expands our consciousness and helps us to grow. At the end of all our lifetimes, every single time, we take with us into Eternity the sum total of all the learning we have gathered, up to then. And that is what we bring with us into every new lifetime, to draw from and to support and sustain us.

No experience is ever wasted and my advice to you is: look for what you can learn from everything that is in your life. Make an effort to absorb the lessons life sends you; that is the only way to grow and evolve. Recognise a higher purpose in all that is, because it is always there. And do not forget to give thanks for the wisdom and love of the Great Father/Mother of all life, our true parents, for helping you to mature. These things are the most important lesson this lifetime has taught me. In all Eternity this learning shall be mine and because of it, next time round I will be able to do much better than during all my previous times on the Earth. This message is coming to you because I wish to share my learning with those who are still on your side of the veil, so that they too may benefit.

One final word: we can all learn from each other’s mistakes and do not necessarily have to make every one of them ourselves. God bless you all.

Your loving sister in spirit,
Erma Bombeck
