What a lovely service you are offering, dear Shahid.
 
I would love to see the dance. I would want to eat authentic food. I would want to go shopping to places that the ordinary tourist wouldn’t know about and ordinary coach tours wouldn’t take them to. I would love Ayur Vedic treatments and to visit some temples and also to learn about the ordinary life there, what homes are like etc.

One of my Friends from USA is coming to
visit my city,Kochi in Kerala,INDIA This
June.I have booked a Backwater Resort for her
and also some Ayurvedic treatments
she wants to try.

I will be going to the Airport to personally
pick her up since it is the first time she is
coming to my city and I want her to feel
safe.

I will also be taking her on a Tour of my city
personally so that she doesnt feel lost and no one
cheats her.

What I want to know is if you were coming to
India or my city Kochi(State:Kerala),What would
you'really like to see/explore/do????Is there something
you have been dying to try for a long time OR
Maybe something which you couldnt do in your
country??

Some of the Popular Things to do for Tourists
in my city is the Backwater Boat Ride,Demonstration
of Kathakali Dance,Visit to many Temples,
Seeing Live Elephants,Ayurveda Treatments
etc.

I think everything would be so new and wondrous to me that I would just like to see the 'normal' life and breathe in the atmosphere there. That's what happened to me when I first came to Italy. People wanted to take me to places that were 'special' according to them, but they could just as well have taken me to the simplest places, because I wouldn't have noticed the difference. It was all special to me.

If it was me that you were showing around I would like
it to be low key, slowly enjoying the local flavor of
your city. Show her India from your perspective,
slowly, so that she can settle into the experience of
just being there as part of it all. The tourist things
are too often surface experiences that one runs to,
one after the other, seeing everything but not being a
part of anything.

Is there a quiet out of the way temple that you two
can spend time meditating in? Spend a day in a small
country village outside the city, especially if you
know someone who lives there. Any nice picnic spots
around? Make her feel like she is a part of India, and
your city.
