Happy HOLI - Festival of colours

A most Happy Holi to everyone here and to our beloved CM Yogi and all Angels working with him !

Holi (Hindi: होली), or Phagwa (Bhojpuri), is a popular, Hindu spring festival, observed in Enitire India and Nepal, also called the Festival of Colours. In West Bengal, it is known as Dolyatra (Doljatra) or Boshonto Utsav ("spring festival").

On the first day, bonfires are lit at night to signify burning the demoness Holika, Hiranyakashipu's sister.

On the second day, known as Dhulhendi, people spend the day throwing coloured powder and water at each other. The spring season, during which the weather changes, is believed to cause viral fever and cold. Thus, the playful throwing of the coloured powders has a medicinal significance: the colours are traditionally made of Neem, Kumkum, Haldi, Bilva, and other medicinal herbs prescribed by Āyurvedic doctors. A special drink called thandai is prepared, sometimes containing bhang (Cannabis sativa). People invite each other to their houses for feasts and celebrations later in the evening.

Rangapanchami occurs a few days later on a Panchami (fifth day of the full moon), marking the end of festivities involving colours.

Holi takes place over two days in the later part of February or early March. As per the Hindu calendar, it falls on the Phalgun Purnima (or Pooranmashi, Full Moon), which will occur on March 22 in 2008

From C.M.Yogi to Berit:

Dear Berit ji, Namaste

Thanks a lot again. Good words are always like Mantras... so i always appreciate them.

i think no need to write more from my side, as you have a very deep understanding of eastern culture... it seems that your study has taken you at deeper level; many times people study but forget to enjoy with it, but your words say that you enjoy with your own study or knowledge. it's great!!! so pls accept my best wishes for your spiritual journey where Gyan ( wisdom) is changed ultimately into Bhakti ( devotion) and expressed through Karma ( working with non-attachment).

Namaste to all of my good friends who don't wait for the Heaven but create Heaven at present.

Additional Response from C. M. Yogi:

Dear Gloria ji and Berit ji
Namaste

Thank you so much for your such good emails that bring a deep joy for us; every single task which we try to do here that is magnified by you so generously and skillfully, which makes us feel that no matter how small is the light but it is the light any way, so we should keep on lighting and praying.....

Yes, we are so happy that we have friends like Damian ji, and Sue ji who have appreciated our work so deeply and they tried to spread out our work and messages... Likewise, we have youths like Samrat who are trying to shape their life and open to share and learn.

We celebrated Holy festival yesterday which was a great fun!!! Sometimes the simple festivals also can create a kind of magic in our life , especially at the time when there is frustration and disappointment, politics has become violent, the society is divided, the life has become busy and tough, and the heart has forgotten to pray and people have forgotten to smile!!!

Well, rest is fine here, we are now busy for planning a Peace Conference for the children, the youths of YSP are now very busy and acitve... ; i remember a saying of Mother Teresa - " We do small things but with great love..." i think that we are also trying to follow the same vision here.

Please pass on my Namaste to all of your good friends and family members. Pls keep in touch. And let's hope that we will meet sometime in life at physical level also.
