God and the World
You do not forsake anyone when you put Me first. Who was first to Christ and Buddha and Mohammed if not I? Certainly not themselves, and not others, and yet they lived in the world and served the world. They were devoted to the world, and yet they were devoted to Me first and above all. They knew from where their power and goodness came. They knew that the way to serve the world was to serve higher than the world. Putting Me first is like putting a tablecloth on the table before you put the serving dishes down.
Of course, the Great Ones went beyond thinking. There was nothing to think about. They were with Me and with their brothers at the same time. The point I am making is that they knew My importance in their serving of mankind. This was not discounting their brethren. They knew that I am from whence their ability to serve their brothers comes. It cannot be from anywhere else.
The Great Ones cared for individuals as much as they cared for Me. They knew Oneness. There was no pull for them to love equally, for they simply loved. They were never without it. Wherever they looked, they loved. And yet their connection to Me was above all. I was their eyes and ears. So great was their vision that they and I – God – could not become One without all becoming One. They knew Oneness. They had become Oneness. They had stood up and become Oneness, and so there no longer was anyone who was lesser. Selfishness, unselfishness, selflessness no longer existed.
The Great Ones saw individuals but were not consumed with individuals. They were consumed with Me which means not consumed at all. They were full of Me, and so they served amply. They did not put individuals before Me. Their eye was on the God Above, and so they served. Wherever they looked, there was I. Let it be that wherever you look, you see Me and know that I AM.
So brilliant is My light that it encompasses everything. It encompasses you.
All the Great Ones were humble because they knew Whose light they shone and upon Whom they shone it. The Great Ones were the simple of the simple, for what is more simple than Oneness? Every breath they took was Mine. Every thought they had was Mine, not Mine distilled but Mine running smoothly. There were no bumps in their road to Oneness. They knew the cascading river of Oneness. They knew it in their bones. They knew it in their hearts. They knew it in their minds. Their consciousness had married Mine. It became One with Mine. We could say it mirrored Mine, but with Oneness there is no mirror. There is light.
As for you, beloveds, Oneness is already yours. It has never been otherwise, only your awareness of Oneness has been sleeping. Your awareness of Oneness was off somewhere else, attentive to something else, lost in something else. Not really lost, of course, but lost to your awareness at the moment. It is as if you have been in a long sleep, and now you are awakening from that sleep. Are you not Sleeping Beauty? Of course, you are. You are My beauty sleeping. Naturally, you have to admit that you have been asleep at the wheel.
The good thing about being asleep is that you can wake up. That is what you are doing now. You are half-awake. Another yawn or two, and then you will be fully awake. And then you will sing in the shower. And you will know that the song you sing is Mine, that you are Mine, and all are Mine, and Oneness alone is.
