Fairer Fields

God said:

Sometimes you are shaken by life. You are astonished by what has befallen. You are shaken out of a pattern. You wanted everything to stay as you liked to think it was. But you got knocked down from your perch. You had to be shaken or you would not have moved. You would have stayed positioned as you were, and so opportunity would have passed you by. A stumbling block got your attention, and you didn't like it. Many times life is a tug of war for you, and you tug and pull, and you know not what you resist.

Why are you baffled time and time again when there is another avenue for you to take? Why is the surprising so surprising? Why does the unexpected affront you? What does it mean that something doesn't follow the course you have set for it? You got toppled, but what's wrong with that?

You do not always have to be at the top of the mountain. Who said you did? Down has its good as much as up.

When something has been shaken loose from you, let it go. You gave it too much importance. When you are taken down a peg, maybe that is so you can move up higher. In any case, you are taken out of where you were, perhaps into another reality.

When a house is blown down, build another.

When the wind is taken out of your sails, let it be.

When you feel dismayed, perhaps that is the same as turning away from opportunity. Life is not to be refused.

Whatever the ruffles are on the surface, nothing is changed. We still are. Love is. The unchangeable does not change.

When the waters are stirred, consider that some sludge is coming to the surface. Isn't it about time? Did you think later was a better time than sooner? You weren't ready, you say. Well, you have been readied.

You had your heart set a certain way, and now your heart is opening up to a higher channel. That is all that can be happening. You are being led into greater awareness. You are going into another dimension. That is what you have always wanted, only you didn't want to be disrupted from the present one quite yet.

Opportunity is meeting you right and left. Give it some credence. Give it a chance.

Goodness pursues you. Let it catch up to you.

The blows in life may be arms trying to lift you. Your resistance makes the bruises. Try love instead. Love what comes to you. Dig beneath it, and see what you come up with. You may be being forced to go in another direction where a great treasure lies. If you had not been turned around, you might have missed it. Are you not on an adventure? In any case, there is no beaten path for you to trod.

There are revolutions in your life. You cannot stand still. It is not allowed. You must go to fairer fields. Your eyes and heart have to open wider.

You think you have trouble. Trouble is a very relative thing. It is an invention. Do not defend the concept of trouble. You need not be in it. Trouble is a label you put on circumstances. Circumstances are around you, but trouble is a marauder you let in.

If something devastates you, there is something false you must divest yourself of. Do not divest yourself of truth. If you feel devastated, you have gone away from the vastness that is yours. It is yours right now. You are the vastness. You are not something else.

Amazing, isn't it? My resistance makes the bruises. And whose are the arms?

Nothing has ever been done to me. It's a big relief to hear that and hear it spoken in a way that makes sense (instead of the cheap and unconvincing appeasement I was offered elsewhere). But who is life?

If you feel devastated, you have gone away from the vastness that is yours. It is yours right now. You are the vastness. You are not something else.

Now, seriously, who is doing the shaking and the forcing?

Devastation, it seems, is what I feel when I forget, and therefore don't want, to be what I am. It remains a mystery that I can forget who I am and still be it! No wonder I find it difficult to grasp that I'm not different from God.
