The One Question
Gloria to God:
Dear Father, You told Bev that in the asking is the healing, and now I wonder if predictive questions are asking for a result, and probably a particular one, and aren't really asking for insight and healing, and, therefore, it is better not to ask them.
God:
A Yes or No answer isn't the answer. A predictive question isn't the question either. When someone asks, "Will Mary marry me? Will I hit the lottery? When will my illness go away?", they haven't asked their real questions.
Predictive questions tend to be controlling questions.
There is really only one question, and that is: "How do I reach You, God? How do I get Home to You? How do I get there sooner rather than later?"
I am a Teacher and a Guide. If you ask, "Will I win the lottery?", and I answer Yes or No, what have you gained?
Questions of the relative are not that important. What lies behind the questions, that has importance.
Life is to be lived, not predicted. The one true prediction is that you will reach Home, and with that surety, your heart is ever-expanding, you are leaning to Me, and all of life's unfoldments bring you ever nearer to Me, your soul's desire.
Gloria:
I ask You about things in the relative all the time, how to handle this and that.
God:
You ask the one question: "How do I get to You, God?"
The auxiliary to that questions is: "How do I make life on earth better? Help me to understand life and make it more worthwhile and easier for me and for those around me."
Your questions are questions of surrender.
"Will I win the lottery?" is not. It could be turned into: "Why do I think winning the lottery will solve all my problems? Why is it so important for me to win a big one for once? Why do I want the excitement and the adulation of my friends so much?"
Also, I teach you to live life in the present. Although there is that sense in which the future is the present, and time does not exist, predictive questions do not help you live in the present.
At the same time as I say all this, I welcome every question from My children. Don't hesitate to ask Me. Perhaps I will say, "Let's wait and see what happens" or "It's better not to know now because it might occupy all your thoughts" or I will answer a deeper question altogether.
Gloria:
Dear God, in a question such as "Will my child be cured of this illness?" there is a lot at stake in that question.
God:
Sometimes I can give you an immediate answer Yes.
Yes is the only true answer because I know not of illness or death.
Perhaps there is something the questioner needs to understand or experience or grow to, and a quick answer from Me would not be beneficial, no matter how much it seems so to the questioner.
Ask the questions: "Does God love Me? Am I part of God? Is there meaning in everything even though I can't see it now? Is now forever? Do I love You, God?"
Gloria:
I have also heard that things in the relative can change so fast that an answer which is true today may not be so later?
God:
From which level? "Will I win the Lottery?" The answer could be Yes in another lifetime, or in the past. Or that lotteries aren't "won" in the first place.
"Will my number be pulled?" is a more accurate question.
My answer is: "Why do you want to know? What is the importance of this to you? What do you think will happen if this does or doesn't occur? What areas of your life might you look at? Where is your attention? Do you think God loves you if your number is pulled, and that He does not if it isn't?" and so on.
"Will I find a job I want? A wife I want? Will I have children?"
I answer, Go find them. Look. Live. Find out. Enjoy the search. Keep Me in mind. Keep My love in mind as you search for the truth in life and not an answer.
Here's a clue. Consider that My answer is always Yes. What happens to you when you hear My answer Yes?
Gloria:
It feels wonderful.

Ask: Does God love me? I answer: Yes.
