The Ocean of Heaven

Gloria to God:

Dear God, what would You like to tell me this morning?

God:

Sail across the sea with Me. We use no oars. Fly across the sky with Me. We use no wings. Ascend into Heaven with Me. We use Our hearts.

Loll on the beach of Heaven. Pure white sand as soft and as white as stardust. And the ocean of Heaven is a pure stream of love, waving and furling and splashing the shore on which you loll.

Heaven's shore is part of Heaven, not an edge of it.

Whether you walk the sands or swim the waves, you are in Heaven.

Whether you look at the sun or the moon, you are in Heaven.

Whether you sit up or lie on your back or on your stomach, you are in Heaven.

Whether you drink tea or kefir, you are in Heaven.

Whether you ride a horse or sit in a cart pulled by a horse, you are in Heaven.

Whether you wear a rubied cloak or gossamer, you are in Heaven.

Whether you walk left or right, you step into Heaven.

So sail with Me to Heaven across the seas to the one shore, on sky, one Heaven, and, with a ribbon tied to your finger, you can fly away and will always find your way back to this white shore, blue sky, and Heavenly abode.

Gloria to Mother Divine:

Dear Mother Divine, what will you tell me?

Mother Divine:

Or you can be carried in God's arms.

Or you can open a page of a book and enter the illustration there and find yourself walking the shore of Heaven.

Heaven is a seascape and an landscape. It is the firmament above as well.

Heaven is a land place.

It is a storehouse.

It is a laundromat, washes clean, spin-dries. A center of a vortex is Heaven. So quiet, so immobile yet so full with energy ready to go, that you are fueled for a whole lifetime in a foreign land called Earth.

And yet the silk ribbon God tied to your finger tows you ever closer to your original Home and knowledge of yourself.

You drift in and out of Heaven. The ribbon is relaxed. It gives you freedom to come and go as you wish, or as you may think you wish.

So why not stay and stop seeking other shores and other seas and other skies and other sequences and other solutions and other problems and other dramas and other masks?

However far you may drift, God puts His hand on the helm of your little ship, and I hold on the trail of it as you sail across the oceans and arrive at the shore of Heaven to stay.

Gloria:

Dear God and Mother Mary, I realize that I have thought of Heaven as a place you go at Death so I have had a slight disinclination to go there.

God:

You hesitate to leave the store where there are all these beautiful objects displayed. You are the child who doesn't want to go to bed for fear he will miss out on something. You are the person who keeps digging for gold in the wrong place.

Come to Heaven while you stay on earth.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 322:
"I can give up but what was never real. I sacrifice illusions, nothing more. And as illusions go, I find the gifts illusions tried to hide, awaiting me in shining welcome, and in readiness to give God's ancient messages to me…Father…as You created me, I can give up nothing You gave me. What loss can I anticipate except the loss of fear, and the return of love?"

Gloria:

What will You say, dear Father?

God:

Enough said.

Later…

Gloria to Mother Divine:

Is there something more? Mother Divine?

Mother Divine:

There is more you want to say.

Gloria:

Well, what do I want to say? I am deeply grateful. I know I am blessed. I feel shackles removed from my shoulders. At the same time I feel something else put there.

Mother Divine:

You feel my hands lightly on your shoulders. You feel God's love established there. You feel burdens lifted. You feel a new strength within you, as would anyone when heaviness is lifted.

You are a bird set free. You are a golden arrow taken out of its sheath. You are a traveling heart now. It goes everywhere. It alights everywhere. It deposits God's light everywhere. It flies everywhere. And still it stays contained within you, filled with God and His love and your soul. Welcome to Heaven.

Later…

Gloria:

Dear Mother Divine, I must tell you today didn't feel like Heaven! Sunshine hurt his back; we had to take him to the vet. I got a rude email from my sister-in-law which I cried about. I did tell Brad what Karen told me to tell him. And he set up the old-fashioned answering machine for me so I can record when Karen calls.

What would you like to tell me, dear Mother?

Mother Divine:

Easy is the way. Be easy with your days and how you view what transpires. What are the good things that happened today?

Gloria:

Ginger is fine. Sunshine could have been in real trouble from the turkey bones he ate last night. My back feels fine. I watered my plants finally — at last! I didn't have lunch. Mary called, and I can cash the check she gave me, and that's very good! It snowed a lot, but it wasn't a blizzard! I have a roof over my head and food to eat and a notebook to write in and a God and Mother Divine who like to tell me what to write, and I have my health, and this was a great day!

Mother Divine:

That's how you do it, Gloria.

Gloria to God:

And, God, what do You wish to tell me?

God:

Half the time you make me laugh! I do have fun with you. Listen to Mother Divine and take joy in the world.
