Are your emotions like a deck of playing cards that you go through, perhaps several times a day? Do you perhaps spread out the cards and pick one, and then another?
Are your emotions like a scale you run up and down?
Do you perhaps feel that you are obligated to touch upon each card?
How many emotions do you go through in one day?
The Direction of Your Thoughts
In order for you to think differently, you have to think differently. Change your thinking and see what else changes. Changing your thinking means to look at what occurs in life in another way from what you have been accustomed to. In other words, let go, release, upend a view of life that you have held dear. Sometimes, only sometimes, the more you protest, the more that arises for you to protest. It is as if you have called its name, and it comes over to you. Your resolve not to have something you do not want is so strong that you call it to you, and it answers.
Only Allness
Mood swings are like a metronome. Back and forth go your transient moods. Do not make too much of them. They will change soon enough.
Certainly do not honor your moods. Within the range of mood, be still. Moods need not affect you. One moment you are in a fever of excitement, and the next your temperature drops. This change in mood is not a momentous event.
Moods
A great service you can give is to not take moods so seriously, not yours nor others’. Your life does not rise and fall according to mood. Moods are changing things. Moods are shades of color that come and go. When an uncomfortable mood seemingly descends on you, this is a signal that it will also leave. But you are not a chameleon where change of color serves you.
