Joy of God
Gloria to God:
Dear God, I woke up this morning with the thought: "The past is unreal. The future is unreal. The present moment with You is the only real."
God:
That is correct.
Gloria:
When I woke up and the thought was there, I seemed to understand it, but now I don't.
God:
The past is a memory. The future is an imagined memory, a memory ahead of time.
Memories are not real. They recollect that which cannot be re-collected.
You know memories are not truth. When someone talks about his war record when he was brave, or her youth when she was beautiful, you get bored.
The present moment is interesting.
Gloria:
So when someone talks about the glorified past — or even the miserable past — the present becomes a loss or burden they feel?
God:
That would be more the truth. I say more because burden and loss are not truth.
The truth might be more that the person is evading his connection to Me, and that equals not living in the moment.
The truth is that nothing ever happened. The only happening is Our love for each other. The only truth is the pure love of this moment. All the rest is a passing parade.
This moment is eternity. It does not move. That is how there is no time and no space.
You truly live in the bliss of eternity.
This bliss of eternity is lush. It is filled with Our love. That truth pushes everything else aside.
Thoughts are what you think you know. Thoughts are what you come across. Everything on the earth plane is a thought. This notebook you write in is a thought. The pen is a thought. The world is a thought.
Gloria:
But the thought I woke up with was true?
God:
The pure love of this moment is true. The thought about it is an attempt at discovering truth.
Truth needs no explanation. Truth is.
Even the clutter you surround yourself with tries to prove that you exist, that you are here, that you passed through these rooms, this world, this lifeway.
You must know that objects are not truth.
Gloria:
There must be a reason why you want us to hear this?
God:
When you are aware of truth, you are not attached to anything. When you are not attached, the veils of illusion fall away. Or the falling away of illusion creates the non-attachment.
When you hold on to something, when something becomes so important that you must hold on to it, perhaps you are forgetting truth and trying to prove an untruth. This is something at which you cannot succeed.
When someone amasses a fortune to prove to himself and the world that he is worthy, or when someone needs to have a boyfriend in order to feel valuable, or when someone must be free of wrinkles on the skin to be worthy, it doesn't work! The counter of the amassed fortune sits forlorn. The counter of boyfriends still seeks true love. The person vigilant against wrinkles can't get ahead of them.
All of life is to remind you of Me, and, therefore, your own value.
When you know where your value is not, you can turn to where it is. So, hello!
Hello! I'm here. You're here. And there is nothing else, My dears.
That is to reassure you, not frighten you.
I am all that there is, and you are a most precious part of Me.
Gloria:
At the same time, we are supposed to enjoy all the regular life.
God:
Oh, yes. Enjoy all the other. Enjoy a pair of new shoes. Enjoy the day. Enjoy the colors and the sounds. Enjoy the passing souls.
By all means, enjoy, but do not worship. Attach to Me where you truly are. Enjoy baubles. Enjoy them for all you are worth. And remember your worth.
Gloria:
Dear God, I'm sort of hearing that mostly we humans are off-track. It is better to enjoy but not value. Everything I ever thought was wasted because what I have thought is only a thought and most probably not true. The trail of objects I leave and find it hard to part with are nothing but objects with which I try to prove my reality are really nothing, but nevertheless to be enjoyed, but not attached to. Everything is illusion etc., and I am left puzzled with all this. And yet, and yet, with everything You've said, You've somehow put a song in my heart, and I am happy.
God:
I pulled some things out of the way of the song in your heart. Or, perhaps I am the Song, and you let yourself sing Me!
Gloria:
I think that whatever You tell me, whether I understand it or not, it makes me happy.
God:
It is not really what I tell you. It is the moment We spend together.
Talk is an excuse to be together with Me with your attention on Me, hanging on to every word I say.
If you were deaf, dumb, blind, you would hear Me as well.
It is not so much My words you hear but My impulses of love. From the sound of My love, you gather words and garnish these pages and your life with them.
Gloria:
Thank You.
God:
Now you are finished for this morning, though you do know, don't you, that you could write Me all day.
Gloria:
Yes.
God:
If I wanted. But now I want you to enjoy the worldly life. Pull off the blanket and have a wonderful opening to this day I have given you.
Mother Divine joins Me in saying so long for now. We will be back in your notebook tomorrow with further impulses of love for you to listen to and write down.
During the day, the same impulses of love reach you. Your assignment is not to write, however, but to enjoy these impulses in your day and circulate them in your life as you do in these pages.
Remember, I am with you all through the day and the night, and you are never alone, and you can never want for anything because of My love and My presence.
