Nancy to God:

Dear God, You ask what am I going through. Well, sometimes life seems very empty. I have a nice house, a loving husband, a good job with good people, and time to do creative work that makes me happy, and, yet, sometimes life seems very empty.

Sometimes it is hard to go through the motions of everyday life. Often I feel very alone even though I know that You are there.

You have told me in the past that nothing compares to being close to You. Well, I need more of You, and I do want to break through my fear because I want greater rewards. I'm close, but yet they are beyond my reach at this time.

Please help me with this. Thank You. I love You.

God to Nancy:

Nancy, what do you do when an apple on a tree is just a fraction out of your reach? What do you do? You reach a little higher. For one moment, you stand on your tippy-toes and stretch your arm out, and you reach the apple.

Desiring to reach the apple is paramount. Knowing that you do is paramount. And yet you have to reach up to the apple. You have a simple supreme focus at that moment. You are not looking at whatever the world says to look at; you are looking at what you want.

If I am the apple you reach for, keep Me in your sights. The apple wants to be picked. Pick Me because you are hungry, or pick Me because you wish to fulfill My desires. Pick Me for you or for Me; it is the same.

You want Me because you want Me. You may be dissatisfied with this or that, but there is the irrefutable recognition that you want Me. Nothing else suffices.

What does this mean to you, dear Nancy?

You used a key word. You said "going through motions". What does that mean? It means you perform certain activities, and yet your heart is not fully there.

Nancy, you say you have a nice house, a loving husband, a good job with good people, time for creative work.

Ask yourself, My Nancy, what does "nice house" mean? Loving husband? Good job? Good people? Creative work?

Are these your thoughts? Or are these words with which the world evaluates your life? Have you taken the world's thoughts as gospel? What advertisements have you bought into? Are these platitudes you are saying, or are these your truths? Are "nice house", "husband", "work", "people", "creative" your honest words, Nancy?

When My children feel they are going through motions, they are not feeling connected to their lives. What would disconnect them but the playing of a part, the accepting of a role, which is the denial of their own truth?

There is no more sincere seeker than you, Nancy. Now you must be honest to the bone. You do not have to make public pronouncements, but do not pretend to yourself. Have you done some pretending to yourself? Are you pretending to yourself?

I hear you talking about yourself in outside terms like "nice" and "good". What makes your job good, for example?

What do you feel? Start your thoughts with "I".

Being aware of your closeness to Me is like a click in your heart, Nancy.

When you do not set your heart aside, then you will know your closeness to Me.

Are you waiting for My permission before you claim your life?

You have My permission. It is more than My permission. It is My Will.

I want more than anything for My children to look through their own eyes and their own hearts, and then they will know their Oneness and not feel alone.

Nancy, think of Me as moonlight that follows you into the deep recesses of your heart. Consider Me as your light within and your light without. I am a simple light. I am not neon. I am your heart's light. Do not dissuade your heart from Me.

Dear God, are you saying that Nancy (we) have great denial?

God:

Many denials. You have bought a bill of goods. You have bought the worlds' standards and assumed them as your own, only to find out that they betray you and were never yours. Nothing in the relative is ever enough. And yet My children so fear losing the pittance the relative gives that they clamor for more, as though the trappings were life itself.

Remember this: fear and I do not co-exist. Fear or faith. Choose.

If all paths lead to Me, then why do you have to go down all of them? Do, if you enjoy. But when they bring you fatigue and fear, where is the joy?

You will all feel worlds lighter when you are honest. You can live in the same house, the same job, the same everything, but with honesty, you will feel a new spring in your step. And then your life will change, and you will change it. Remember, the trappings are not your life. They are incidental to your life.

Your life is your own. And it is Mine as well.

And the process of life is life. A result isn't life. Enjoy the attaining. Enjoy the stirring. Even enjoy the discomfort that tells you that you are not static but alive.

Dear Gloria, Sunday was the first continuing ed workshop I couldn't get to (flu).

How I have missed the thrill of sitting under the "God umbrella". That's what the meetings are like for me. We all sit close together in a group, and God comes and makes an umbrella of Himself over us, and it's so sweet and so blissful.
