Hi, Gloria, I am sending in a question I have struggled with for years. The prayer is a Unity prayer called the prayer of protection. It goes like this:

"The light of God surrounds you, The love of God enfolds you, the power of God protects you and the presence of God is with you."

Not sure I have the last line exactly right but I say, "Wherever you go, God is there".

I know that if I step out in front of a moving car, God will not protect me. If my uterus is destroyed by a tumor, He doesn't make a new one.

I read once that God's will here on earth is in accord with the law of the earth. So I am trying to understand what God's power is here on this physical plane.

Dear God. I have a prayer I like to say, but when I come to the line "The power of God protects me/you", I stumble within myself because I don't have a good understanding of this term. What is Your power, God?

God to Lucile:

Lucile, Lucile, My beloved, do you notice that you feel safer perhaps with Gloria than you do with Me? Is that so?

I love your question, dear Lucile. It is the question of questions.

If you or Gloria were I, if you were God, no one would have a car accident. No one would have an illness. I know that. I know that fully and clearly. I also know, and you know, that human vision is limited, and Mine is not.

Lucile, it is not that I have never intervened or have never protected anyone from being hit by a car. I have. You know I have. I have sent My angels. I have whispered a word. Many accidents have been circumvented.

The same with illness. All uteruses with tumors have not been destroyed. All uteruses do not get tumors.

Pay attention to what you like, dear Lucile. Don't give attention to what you do not like.

Everlasting life does not pertain to the human body. The earth life is change and nothing but change. And yet, underlying it all, are you and I, the Unchanging. You are not your body. You are My infinite eternal child. Nothing can happen to you, Lucile.

My power is infinite. There is no power I do not have. There is nothing I cannot do. There is no illness that I cannot cure. There is no accident that I cannot prevent. I can rid you of fear, of pain, of ignorance. I am God Almighty. All power is Mine.

I do not go by whim. I am not led astray.

I see things differently from the way you see. I see beyond what you see. You see a point on the universe. I see the universe and all of eternity. I see this moment expanded beyond itself into Heaven. I see your beauty and your timelessness and where you are in My heart.

You could say that I did not save Jesus the Christ. But I do not say that I did not. I say there is no death. I say that you, like Christ, will be forever, dear Lucile, and that you are with Me forever. You are with Me as I am with you. Right now.

This sounds like promises to you, but I tell you it is Truth. There is nowhere where you are not safe with Me. Even in an accident. Even in an illness. Even in any illusion of loss that you may have. Even in the body's death. Even in anything you can think of or imagine.

A child has a balloon. The balloon pops, and the child is bereft. He thought he had to have that balloon. He thought his happiness was dependent upon it. The balloon was his world.

As he grows, he does not cry over balloons.

But he cries over other things that some day he will grow beyond.

Everything in his life leads him to Me.

Everything in your life leads you to Me, where you began, Lucile. Whatever the appearance of the steps, you are returning to Me. You are reaching Me and the state called Heaven.

You are never out of My sight. You are never without My protection. You are always with My love.

That is a beautiful prayer that you say.

But yours is a heart that wants to speak only your solid truth. You want your heart behind every word you pray. Anything off for you in your prayer, and it interrupts rather than furthers Our connection.

Make up your own prayer, Lucile, and you will feel closer and safer with Me. Say:

"Beloved God, I want to feel safe with You. I want to believe in Your power. I want to know You are ever with me. Help Me to know You. Help Me to grasp You. Help me to hold You. Help me to love You. Help me to know Who You Are and Who I Am. Help me to brighten earth. Help me to shine Your light. Help me to make my tour on earth a testament to You. Help me to know I am Your beloved. Help me to know You. Permeate me, dear God, with Your light and love. Help me to know My holiness. Help me to give You joy with my life on earth. Help me know how to be Your child. Help me know Your love. Help me accept Your love.

"Thank You for Your love. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for filling me with Your spirit. Thank You for my body and my earthly life. Thank You for being My Heavenly Father and for making me Your Heavenly Child. Thank You for filling my heart."

Lucile, say only the words that feel true to you, but don't weigh them overmuch.

God's answer to my question was very definitive. I will have to read and reread it a few times to let it filter in, but basically I was very surprised with the answer. Not because it was different or unthought of, but because it affirmed my belief.

His answer left a very settled feeling in me, in my heart. I feel excited about this, because it gives me a direction that is not plagued with doubt.

You said a while ago something like that I would get shorter answers from you. Up until now, I have been weighing your answers in the number of words. With your answer to Judith yesterday, I felt I was weighing it in power. It was long enough in power. I just couldn't put anything else with it.
