God in the Midst
Gloria:
Dear God, I realize that even personal relationships have to be for You. It's like a friendship for myself or for the other person isn't enough. No matter how fine the friendship, it lacks something. I feel something good from just thinking: My friendships are for You, God.
The friends I have made through Heavenletters run deep with me. Many I know only through Heavenletters. I have never met them or seen them. I know them for You and through You, dear God. Without You, would these dear friends and I have ever come to know each other? I don't see how. I don't know how much we would have in common without You, but we certainly do have You in common.
I keep thinking: with God in the midst. I don't know if that's from a poem, but it's a refrain within me. God in the midst.
God:
God within, God without. For God, with God, of God, by God, from God, to God. God in the midst. God everywhere. The life of God.
Gloria:
I never thought of You as having a life!
God:
You think of life in terms of the relative on earth.
I am Life. I am the Giver of Life. I give Myself. I created many Myselves, knowing all the while that it is One Self created of Me in a variation of forms. Each form expresses Me uniquely. How much uniqueness can there be?
Infinite.
There is only one you. There is no other in the whole world just like you. There never was, and there never will be again. There is infinite uniqueness. Uncountable numbers of Oneness.
And yet, you are only a drawing of Me.
Consider this:
If I am infinite, you also are infinite.
Do you doubt My infinity?
Then don't doubt your own.
Do you doubt My love?
Then don't doubt your own.
Do you doubt My creativity?
Don't doubt your own.
Do you doubt My magnificence?
Do you doubt My power?
Do you doubt My glory?
Do you doubt My existence?
Then don't doubt your own.
All I am I have given to you.
I gave you everything.
Accept what I have given you.
It is for you.
It is yours.
Notice it.
Notice Me.
Notice your grandness.
Enough looking at your smallness.
Quite enough.
You need no reminders to look at your smallness.
Forget your smallnesses.
Look at your greatness.
How could it be that a God such as I could create less than greatness?
Remember I created you.
I created you in My image.
I created you deliberately and purposefully.
You aren't out there for nothing.
You are out there for something.
There is reason for your being.
Just know that.
That is enough.
The reason will find you when you acknowledge its existence.
You are to give joy, yes.
But you also have a unique purpose, or you would not have been born.
Not one of you is without purpose.
Take heart.
Not one of you is forgotten.
Not one of you is overlooked.
Do not overlook yourself.
How do you find yourself?
It has been said by losing yourself.
I say loose yourself.
Loose your nonsense.
Loose your ego.
Loose that holding on.
Loose all the barriers to God in the midst.
I have told you before that you are remembering.
You are remembering Me.
You are remembering yourself.
You are remembering the present.
You are entering the present.
You are noticing the present.
Noticing Me and noticing the present are the same.
That is being.
Be in the midst of Me.
You are in the midst.
You are in My midst.
Gloria:
Sometimes I feel You as though you are looking right into My eyes.
God:
I am looking out through your eyes. That is what you see when you feel that.
Gloria:
I seem to feel You looking into my eyes.
God:
It is the same. There is only you and I. What is the difference then? Whose eyes are they? Whose can they look into?
Gloria:
Sometimes I don't know the difference between You and Christ.
God:
Do you have to know?
You can only know infinity through Me whoever shows the way.
If someone is My messenger, he gives you My messages, not his own.
Gloria:
Sometimes I have wondered if it's Christ's eyes I see looking into my own.
God:
Then you are seeing Mine through Christ. He looks at you through My eyes, just as you look out through Mine.
Gloria:
There seems to be far more love and strength in this look I see than I possess. The strength appears as clarity and firmness and a kind of kindness, a sweetness.
God:
Love is sweet. Get used to it. Why bother with anything else but My love? You have it. Use it. Be it. Anything but My love is costume. Remove the costume and the make-up, and there you are, all love, all that beingness of love, unadorned, clean, pure, unadulterated love, pure God's love.
Every child of Mine is a child of Mine.
Can I say it more simply?
You are My child.
Just be who you are.
Then you shine like the Sun.
Then you are the Sun.
You are the light of the Sun by day and the moon by night.
Only there is no day and there is no night.
There is only light, My light, shining on and from you.
Shining for Me.
Yes, shine for Me.

Marianne to Heavenletters:
I loved what Barbara had to say about choosing the same familiar story, or doing all of our work for God—devoting housecleaning etc. to God. It was a powerful reminder for me. That same story plays in my head often, and I do want to rise above it, and I have, but how often I forget.
Whether it's housework or work outside the home, when I focus on myself and all the work ahead of me, often I obsess about the outcome (will it be good enough, etc.). But when I forget my own ego and think of God, how much more smoothly and efficiently things go…the way they're supposed to.
Thanks, Barbara, for your assistance and inspiration!
