Some of you have it wrong. You think I am supposed to please you. Pleasing you is not My purpose. Displeasing certainly is not either. But sometimes — often — you are hard to please.

You think I am to be at your beck and call. Well, of course, I am, but you think I am to dance to your tune. It is you who does well to follow My lead.

It is not that I have to let you know Who is in charge. It is that I have to let you know your magnificence. Included in your magnificence is a state of awareness. Part of that awareness is that you do not consciously know enough to tell Me what to do.

The state of grace I refer to is often called humility. Humility is not a putting yourself down. It is not you scraping your feet. It is not you subservient. It is you with a gentleness that outdoes all your fussing and fuming.

But you have felt righteous, and you have seen Me as ignorant. How you long to set Me straight! How you long to tell Me what's what! You like to think you intend to enlighten Me for the sake of others, but you are the one who is irritated. Everyone can speak for himself. Others have not asked you to arbitrate with Me on their behalf.

You are not in the boxing ring with Me. We are not at opposite ends. You and I both love Humanity, and We want it to rise. It's just that you think I am not playing My part well. Pay more attention to yours.

And what is your part? It is not to set Me straight. It is not to set others straight. Nor is it to set Me right with others. Your part is to set yourself straight. Do not consider your place in the world more significant than your place with Me. It comes down to you and Me. That's what it comes down to.

What has really been bugging you? What makes you feel discontent with how I do things? When did you become the naysayer of Me?

For one thing, you want more attention from Me. Listen, it is for you to give Me more attention with your heart and less with your intellect.

Your intellect holds Me at bay.

Your heart wants to sit in My lap. That is just right.

Yet you seem to want Me to be your caterer, and that I am not. I prepare feasts, but it is not for you to countermand My selections. You do not know better than I. You know better than that.

Give Me your heart now. Place it before Me. This is how you come into your own.

Lay down your swords of ego. We are not opponents. Look at the true picture and less at one of your making. Confess that you do not know all the workings of creation. Confess that you know only a small portion. Don't get your steam up.

Be smooth. Be gracious. Honor Me as your Guest or your Host. Either way, save yourself wear and tear. You don't have to swim upstream.

Swim with Me. Surrender to Truth. Come in My direction.

You have been like a man in the water who thinks he's drowning, and he struggles with the hands that would save him.

Only I tell you neither you nor the world is drowning. You won't believe it when I tell you all is well. Look into My heart, and you will know what I say is so.
