Getting Closer to God
Gloria to God:
Dear God, my little dog Ginger is home from the hospital. We're so grateful. Now I must address giving her shots. I get weak at the thought and feel disintegrated. I can't even imagine myself doing it. What is it I am afraid of exactly? I know that she has to have insulin at this time, and who else is going to do it when Lauren isn't here? Please, dear God, help me with this one.
God:
Here you are, an example of one who has desire to control, and, at the same time, such fear of it.
Let's remove the concept of control, dear Gloria. This is not yours to control. You do not decide. The decision has been made. You are a server of God and a server of little Ginger. A server doesn't serve only what and as he likes. Your service to Ginger goes beyond feeding, petting, sweet words. You serve Me according to My Will — yours too — and I tell you it is your will now to go beyond your past fears.
Courage isn't even needed. But if you think you need it, I will give it to you.
What is needed is acceptance. You are a part of saving Ginger's life at this time and in this way. You once fought off a Rotweiler who was attacking your puppies. That was easy because you had no thought about it, no foreknowledge, and no opportunity to build up and compound awkward mental gymnastics.
This is not a complicated thing to inject Ginger. Sunshine would be a different matter. But Ginger will sit there and let you do it. She will help you. She would inject for you if she could and could understand.
What she understands is your love for her and hers for you. The sugar that spills over in her bloodstream is the sweetness of this bountiful love she has received, and how can she accept it as hers when she feels so unworthy of it?
I will communicate with Ginger and encourage her to accept love as well as give it. Then Ginger will know how to absorb the sweetness of being loved.
In the abusing home she was born to, her unworthiness was beaten into her. She was taught fear. And now you have a needle fear you absorbed from your past that you must release. You must release it so Ginger will know it's possible for fear to be released and that it is safe for her to release hers.
That is what you must do for Ginger.
Gloria:
Thank You, dear God. I can picture doing it now. You healed something, didn't You?
God:
That is what I do.

Nancy wrote: "As usual God's answer made me cry. He knows me so very well. I will try to listen more to people and to just be. Like God said, I try to buy friendship with deeds. I think I can stop that and just be. It will be a big relief if I can remember that I do not have to win love.
"I do want to be closer to God and I do think of Him and know that He loves me. But how do I get closer? And how do I 'straighten the disarray in my heart?' Please ask those questions for me too."
God to Nancy:
Nancy, you straighten the disarray in your heart through honesty.
It is like sorting out a closet. "This doesn't belong here. This goes out. This doesn't fit any longer. This has fallen apart. I don't know why I keep this."
Throw out the illusions. Clean out your heart of anything that is not you, I, or truth.
Honesty is how you straighten the disarray in your heart. And that is how you come closer to Me, closer to Me in your knowledge and awareness of Me, because in truth you cannot be closer to Me than what already is.
Consider Me your coach as you create beauty and throw pots in your studio.
Consider Me your shadow lover that follows you everywhere.
Consider Me your pocketbook that you take everywhere with you.
Consider Me your car keys.
Consider Me your truth.
Consider Me the air you breathe, the scenery you see.
Consider Me beauty and texture.
Consider Me the ground under your feet.
Consider Me your love counselor.
Consider Me your knight.
Consider Me in the water you drink.
Consider Me in everything.
Tell Me, Nancy, where am I not?
Am I everywhere but in you?
You remind Me of Ginger in a way.
Perhaps everyone's lesson is to accept. Perhaps instead of hunting the love you want, sit down and notice it. Whatever love you see, it is yours to accept.
Most of all, accept your own.
Your real fear, Nancy, is that you don't love. But I know you do, and I know you love Me, even though you're not quite sure I'm there. But again, where would I be, dear Nancy, if not with you?
Gloria to Mother Divine:
Dear Mother Divine, is our whole search for love?
Mother Divine:
Yes. "Who am I and where am I and why?" You seek these questions through love, and it is in love that you find the answers. Love is the only truth. Love, joy, truth, peace, God are the same.
Find love, joy, truth, peace, and you have God in your hand.
God fills and surrounds you in any case, Just look. Could you move your hand without God? Could you think without His mind? Could you love without His heart?
You are truly created by God, and He attends to His creation. He doesn't accept one and discard another. He accepts. God is the Great Acceptor, and that is what you all are learning to be.
So, accept that.
