Christ's Love
Gloria to Mother Divine:
Dear Mother Divine, Karen mentions how we're programmed to think certain ways. Or we could say taught, propagandized, brainwashed, like my having to be "nice" above all. It's almost like being hypnotized. And then we need to be deprogrammed — or deprogram ourselves.
Mother Divine:
Openness. Living in the moment. Changing gears into neutral. Removing limiting eyeglasses.
Gloria:
I saw the movie, The Truman Show, the other night. That boy was programmed for sure. The world he lived in was totally man-made. The sun and moon and sunsets were man-made. Everything was a lie. Love wasn't love; it was paid work or promotion of love. Nothing was real. God was not. I mean He did not exist there. I never heard Him mentioned.
Mother Divine:
Yes, that movie is a metaphor for the narrowness of the world.
Gloria:
But Truman had to escape it. What he escaped to is the world we live in. Do we have to escape this world?
Mother Divine:
Live in it without attachment to it. Live in it, not modeled, obviated, but in truth. Man's world opens into horizons of God's world, which is love. Even in Truman's contrived world, love was there. He was love, wasn't he? Beauty was there.
One has not so much to escape man's world as to enter into God's.
A book within a book. A view within a view. A reflection within a reflection, God within man, Heaven within the world.
Life is search for truth. Search for truth is search for yourself. Search for yourself is search for God. Search for God is really searching for your eyeglasses which are on your forehead all the while.
God does not ask you to refrain from the world or to enjoy it less. With God, you will enjoy it more. God wants you to enjoy. He gives permission. He gives joy a priority. Enjoy the land he made. Love it as it is, and you will not need to reform it. Love it as it is, and the rough edges fall away. Love what is, and what you love will become more of love itself.
Love your enemy, and he is transformed.
Gloria:
Mother Divine, I always seem to hit the hard wall of Hitler. He was adored apparently. Loving him would have changed him?
Mother Divine:
Love, not kowtowing, not semblance of love, would have altered him. He was feared, not loved. He was idolized, not loved. He was obeyed, not loved. He was used, not loved.
Come to love what you hate. Love transforms. Not pity, not compassion, but love. Not lovingness, but seeing as Christ did.
Gloria:
Mother Divine, Christ's love did not turn his enemies into love.
Mother Divine:
From his side, he saw not enemy.
Christ's love continues still to transform the world. His love entered your heart. He incited your journey to God. That is what he does. That is what he did.
He entered your heart to make room for God there.
He wedged it open a crack.
He shone his light into your heart.
He struck a note that stirred your heart.
A stirred heart moves in love.
Search for love within is an appetite. Waiting for love from without is without appetite.
Christ gave you an appetite for God.
The first stirring was Christ.
It is as if he thought a note and pinned it to your heart. The note said: "Our Father shall surely come."
And He surely came into your awareness, for that is where He comes to.
Christ made a clearing in your heart.
God, the Great Simplifier, caressed your heart.
He planted a gemstone there.
A fire-opal.
An amethyst.
A gem grows in your heart.
It will take over.
You will notice its effects.
The gem becomes a violin of love.
The violin plays itself, and you enjoy.
You are the watcher of the musician in your heart. You watch the songs being played. You watch the notes come out.
That is how you write these words. You witness them. No more than that. You do not design them, plan them, pull them. You let them.
And so shall it be in life.
Your heart will be the pen from which your life flows, unbidden, uncorrupted, pure in the present time in the presence of God.
Your heart will write your story. Your story is your life. It writes itself. It reports the state of the heart.
The heart is the meaning. Thoughts are the words. There is no plot. The story is a flower that unfolds.
Life enfolds and unfolds.
It blossoms forever, one leaf after another, one blossom after another, one bud after another, one seed after another.
Life is a lotus-flower because the heart is.
Your heart is revealed in your life.
The heart views with the heart of God.
God loves His creation. Love yours.
