Christ Lit Up the World
Gloria to God:
Dear God, I realize that no matter how great anger may seem, it is a surface thing and cannot touch the pure quality within.
God:
Anger is a storm that comes and go. It masks. It helps you to believe you are nothing but the surface. If you are nothing but the surface, then you are right to exercise control, hold on tight, try to make things the way you want at a given time. If the surface were all that there is, what else could you do?
Fortunately, there is a cushion of truth beneath the surface maze, and there lies your true existence.
That deep trust beneath the surface belongs to you. The surface smoke does not.
Gloria:
Despite my understanding, I feel angry. Will You please remove this surface anger from me? I feel it towards my daughter, ostensibly for her buying things and leaving them in my car forever. Why buy something if it's going to be forgotten about? The pile-up of things gets to me.
God:
You do not have to allow purchases to be left in your car.
Gloria:
Then I am angry that I have to tell somebody that.
God:
When you set boundaries, you won't have to get angry.
Gloria:
How can I love someone so much and get so angry?
God:
If an acquaintance of yours left something in your car, you would simply return it to them.
Gloria:
But they wouldn't keep doing it.
God:
Ask yourself what you are really angry about. Could it be because you see your own imperfections? When was the last time you cleaned out your car? What in your own life do you see as a mess?
Really, Gloria, when you feel angry about something, mentally pack your frustration in a kerchief, tie it up, and hand it to me, not for safekeeping but for disposal.
Gloria:
If I were angry over something bigger, more worthwhile, I think I wouldn't be so angry.
God:
You are afraid of drifting, and you fear your daughter is drifting.
Gloria:
I am afraid she is not dealing with things.
God:
Drifting is not dealing with things. Her fears become your fears, her emotions yours.
Your daughter is quite angry right now, and some of it is displaced in you.
Gloria:
If I can forgive and love my former husband so easily, why can't I my daughter?
God:
Can your daughter forgive you?
Let this thought sink into you. And this is enough of that for a while.
What's next?
Gloria:
God, dear, it is hard to reconcile my smallness with the greatness of Heaven.
God:
The smallness is yours. The greatness is Mine.
Bees have certain functions. One makes the honey. Another prepares for it. Another eats it.
Some people are readers of Heaven and another writes it down. The writer and reader are no different. Do you expect readers to be perfect?
You just have different jobs. Now, is that a relief to you? You don't have to be a certain way.
Gloria:
I have felt how the readers of Heaven hold it up.
God:
They return great energy to it.
Gloria:
Karen says that every Heavenreader has a shift come from reading it. I think she means shift in consciousness.
God:
How one sees things makes a difference in how they live.
Gloria:
Karen furthermore says that the people near Heavenreaders, the people who themselves do not read it, also shift.
God:
That is inevitable.
Gloria:
I also understood her to say that the act of helping one person to shift who then in turn helps others around him to shift is what Christ did.
God:
A huge radius around Christ shifted.
Gloria:
God, why would there be people around him who would be against him?
God:
Perhaps they were not comfortable with the shift they felt. Here comes control again. When you become uncomfortable inside, you find something outside to wrangle.
The expression, "touched many lives", applies strongly to Christ.
His light still radiates into time. Two thousand years ago, he walked on earth, and his steps are felt still.
Christ accomplished much, but his power was not in what he did. It was in what he was.
If he could not have uttered a word, he would have radiated his wholeness just the same.
If he could not move an inch, his light would have reached the furthermost corners of the world to the same degree.
Gloria:
But would people have known his greatness?
God:
They might or might not have. His greatness however surpassed what others knew or thought.
His simplicity, his intentness of purpose, and his love conquered the world. I say "conquered", but I mean more: traveled the world, overtook it, lit it up.
Christ's wisdom and love exist within every soul on earth.
It need only be uncovered.
Each of you is a true work of art, if you but knew.
Gloria:
Did Jesus know who he was?
God:
He did not think about it. His attention was not on himself but on Me.
Gloria:
Did he know he was a helper of mankind?
God:
Yes, he knew.
Gloria:
Did he know he was a servant?
God:
Yes, he knew, and he washed the feet of others.
Gloria:
Did he know he was a symbol?
God:
Yes, he knew he emblemized Me. That is what all My children do not know and need to.
Remember, you are not your titles. A priest, cobbler, nomad, pilot, trash collector, maid, hotel owner are the same child of Mine and inherited My gifts all the same. I give equally.
Not one of you knows the effect you have on the world. Not one of you suspects.
Now it is time for you to suspect.
Like the bees, you have your role.
Like the bees, you are part of the whole.
I play the piano, and you are the keys I play and the notes I sing.
I sang at the beginning of creation, and I have never stopped. My Voice carries.
My Voice doesn't stop, but I stop for you. I reach down for you, and pull you up, and so you come.
We ride on a horse together, you in my arms. We travel the universes, and you do not even remember or recognize that you have been traveling with Me.
But you will. You will.
