Cherishing One Another

Gloria:

Dear God and Heavenreaders, Margaret forwarded the following to me. I do not know where it originated. It certainly is not Heavenletters' policy to include quotations here, but this seems so wonderful that I must share it with everyone:

This is from someone who recently returned from India. Her group met with the Dalai Lama for several days. The meetings focused on dialoguing what they believed were the five most important questions to be considered moving into the new millennium.

The group were asked to come up with five questions before meeting with the Dalai Lama. They asked:

* How do we address the widening gap between rich and poor?

* How do we protect the earth?

* How do we educate our children?

* How do we help Tibet and other oppressed countries/peoples?

* How do we bring spirituality (deep caring for each other) through all disciplines?

The Dalai Lama said all the questions fall under the last one. If we have true compassion, our children will be educated, we will care for the earth, and for those who "have not".

The Dalai Lama asked the group: "Do you think loving on the planet is increasing or staying the same?"

His own response was: "My experience leads me to believe that love IS increasing."

He shared a practice with the group that will increase loving and compassion in the world, and asked everyone attending to go home and share it with as many people as possible.

1. Spend 5 minutes at the beginning of each day remembering we all want the same thing (to be happy and loved) and we are all connected.

2. Spend 5 minutes cherishing yourself and others. Let go of judgments. Breathe in cherishing yourself, and breathe out cherishing others. If the faces of people you are having difficulty with appear, cherish them as well.

3. During the day extend that attitude to everyone you meet — we are all the same, and I cherish myself and you. Do this with the grocery store clerk, the client, your family, coworkers, etc.

4. Stay in the practice, no matter what happens.

God:

This is very good. It is truth. It is good for all ones to have the intention to bless all other forms of themselves. The intention and attention alone can enlighten the world.

The Dalai Lama also noted that the spirituality of compassion is increasing, and he highlighted true compassion.

Willing to cherish has its value, but the actuality of cherishing has more value. Form by itself is not enough. Truth must live behind the form.

So, how to undo the heart so it has genuine cherishment?

Desire. Desire your heart to be pure.

Ask Me to help you remove the sludge that drags your heart.

Await. Await the event.

Meanwhile, live your life.

Trust your own eyes. See through them and not other's.

And, yet, look at something differently each day.

Say to yourself: "If I had great compassion, how would I look at this? What might I do?"

Say to yourself: "If I were great, how would I see this?"

Say to yourself: "If I had great material wealth, how would I see this differently?"

Say to yourself: "If I were wise, how would I respond?"

Say to yourself: "If I were God's emissary, how would I see this?"

Say to yourself: "If this person before me were an emissary of God, how would I see him, and how would I respond?"

Say to yourself: "What if God sent me this person or this situation so that I could learn my greatness?"

Say to yourself: "What if God sent me to this person so that this person could learn his own greatness?"

Say to yourself: "What if God sent me to this person with a message signed and sealed by God?"

Say to yourself: "What if today, only today, only this moment, I were a holy being, how would I see and do differently?"

First you see things differently. From new sight comes new response, new words and new action.

When you see something differently, you are changed.

Something enters your life that was not there before. You have increased yourself. It is a little thing to do, this looking at something differently.

Look at this minute, and not the past. Look at this person, and not someone from your childhood. Look at yourself right now, and not as you thought you were. Let go of your opinions.

You are fresh from Heaven. Know it. Know Me. Know yourself. And you will grow in My expression of love and wisdom.

Gloria, right now there is someone and a situation that is bothering you. You know what it is. If you were Christ, how would you deal with it? Think a moment.

Gloria:

He wouldn't see what I see. He wouldn't be so critical. He would see the person's light and not their shadow. He would talk to You in them. He would not project error on them.

At Sunday's workshop, Caroline had a message from you that comes to mind now. You said something like this: "Your thoughts cannot be wrong. They are your thoughts. But your thoughts may not serve you well."

In this particular situation of mine, I feel angry. My thoughts are angry. I can say how Christ would respond, and I feel bad that I see this situation the way I do, but do I then, as with thoughts, say that my reaction is not wrong, but it doesn't serve me or the other person well?

God:

Itdoesn't serve either of you well.

What might serve you both better?

Gloria:

Neutrality. But I don't have it. I'm not there.

God:

If you were neutral, what would it be? I am pushing you into a corner, Gloria.

Gloria:

Probably I would say: "This has got to stop. How can I help you with this?"

God:

Just say the last sentence — How can I help you with this? Leave the first one off. That is not your place. What you can do is your place.

You will get the hang of it.

Gloria:

God, how do I get to feel uplifted right now?

God:

Let go of a minute ago, and just be with Me now. The past is gone. The recent past is gone. There is just you and I now, and the thought of Me is uplifting.

Forgive Gloria for having to learn things. Appreciate her for learning. Don't be down on anyone, and not yourself. That is against My Will. My will is for you to look up at Me and see your unmitigated Self in Me, for you are My treasure.

I bless all My children who have been imperfect in their perception and dealings, and remind you that you shine My light, today is new, and that is enough.
