Gloria to God:

Dear God, Johanna, who took the last Ask God Workshop, just sent me a Heavenletter of Your remarkable words, and with her permission, I'm including it here. She expressed how glad she is to have learned to write Your words, her desire to share what You say, and the happy effect Your words have on her:

Johanna to God:

Dear God, I don't know what to do. I am lost on whatever path I may be on. What should I do?

God through Johanna:

Don't Look Back. Don't Look Forward. Live in the essence of the moment. Shake off all the spider webs of life, all the expectations. What is left but Space and in Space there is so much Freedom to do what ever you want. Play a Game — Follow Your Toes and see where they take you.

Johanna:

Is there anything else you would like to tell me?

God through Johanna:

Your Heart need not feel so heavy, so burdened. None of it really exists. We make up our feelings, our bodies, circumstances in our life. You may wonder why all of this happens. It happens because we are teaching ourselves lessons. You've told this to your toes. Laugh, they'll take you the way!

Gloria:

God, I found Your remarkable message to Johanna so light, fun, and true. I think it says it all. Follow our toes!

Everybody's Godwriting seems to be so You and so Them, so Johanna or Priscilla or Bev or Caroline or Joyce at the same time!

God:

It's like a hat you wear. Each has her own style. Johanna would pick out a hat different from the one you would, and so on.

Everything you do is an expression of Me. I express to and through you. You represent Me. I refer, of course, to all the children of Mine on earth.

Gloria:

But in life some represent You better than others?

God:

That's how it appears because you judge. And, it is true that representations of Me can be distorted, love defamed, but love and I are there nevertheless. Christ saw this. He saw the Me in everyone, the high and the low, the rich man and the thief. He saw beyond appearances.

Gloria:

Our Godwriting this morning reminds me of Johanna's Heavenletter in that it just goes from moment to moment without any plan.

God:

But you know it is going somewhere. Even if it goes nowhere, you traveled somewhere. Something transpired. Even a gap is a happening. Nothing is for nothing.

Gloria:

Dear God, I seem to be having a breakthrough in not getting caught in someone's games or pretenses. You spoke the other day about someone who wanted to be virtuous and also filled with "poor me", and how she was perpetuating her myths.

I realize how lame is "I would if I could."

I am not talking about the issue of anyone's decision, but the malarkey that goes with it, as though their decision was out of their hands.

I'd like to give an example of my progress:

The other day a friend of mine told me she would love to subscribe to Heavenletters but she couldn't because she was "cash-poor". (She travels to Europe and all over! That's fine. What isn't fine anymore is my pretending to accept the honorable "cash-poor" as valid any longer.)

I said, "Baloney juice."

Her reply was, "Well, let's just say my money isn't liquid."

I said, "Liquid-schmiquid."

This is a great leap for me to not just go along. The funny thing is, soon after, she brought up the Ask God Workshops and wanted me to be sure to tell her when the next one was. I told her this Sunday. She signed up immediately and wrote out a check without batting an eye! God, she didn't make any excuses for her decision to take the workshop!

God:

With this kind of independence of thought you are expressing — what you are growing to is freedom.

What has held you back all your life, you are now tossing away — untruth and pretense of accepting untruth hold back growth and forward movement. Without untruth and pretense, you are free.

The "truth shall set you free" wasn't about some great truth outside you but your truth.

"Know thyself" means "Don't kid yourself."

Being honest doesn't apply just to giving back a dollar when you receive too much change.

Gloria:

God, what about the niceties of convention?

God:

Mass untruth.

Gloria:

I mean like, when someone is invited to a party, and they don't want to go, it's all right to say, "I'm sorry, I have other plans"?

God:

Or you could say, "I'm just not in the party mood these days," or "I'm spending a lot of time inward."

Much of your life, Gloria, was spent in "being nice". Now spend it in being truthful. Nothing is sweeter than truth. It's such a relief. Honest transaction. Honest conversation.

How nice of you was it to be an accomplice to perpetuating myths, fraud, untruth? How nice of you was it to make yourself a cipher?

Do you see how, when you raise your self-worth, you raise others?

Gloria:

I begin to see.

God:

Part of being in your truth is not minding what someone else thinks. How freeing is that! Untied from the opinions of others! Untied, unroped, unfrazzled!

There will be less difference now between your world life and your spiritual life. Less discrepancy. More unification.

Listen to yourself more than to public opinion. Revamp public opinion! Where does strength lie? In truth. In God. In love.

Public opinion is very confining.

Truth is taking off a girdle, shoes that pinch, and weights on your shoulders. Whose life do you live, yours or someone else's? Yours, or no one's!

Live your choices, your thoughts. Wear the style hat that you choose.
