The Key to Life

God said:

In life you are presented with many forks in the road. You find it hard to choose, as if something enormous is at stake. Whether you go right or left may not be a monumental decision, certainly not so big as you have thought.

In fact, real life is easier than deciding which fork in the road to take because there are many times when you really do not need to decide this way or that. There are many routes in life you can take at the same time. When in doubt, pursue both, or three or four, or find a fifth. When the choices are many, who said you always had to choose one and be done with it? You may not know which you want to study more — astronomy or biology. Study both. What stops you?

And when there is a situation where one must be chosen over another — after all, you cannot marry two women at once — and you don't know what to do — then perhaps your choice is not to choose at all. Who said you had to?

What dictates your life?

In one sense, you are the decider of your life. In another sense, you have no decisions to make. Life makes decisions for you.

Life presents itself to you. Some things come easily, and some come hard. You are not the wielder of life at all times. You definitely are the recipient of it always.

When a decision must be made, you do not have to decide to get all wrought up about it. You are apart from any decision you make. You are not deciding who you are. You are only deciding something. You are making a choice. That's all.

Answers to decisions melt away, and you don't even recall decisions by and by. They seemed to be the crux of your life at the time, and now you know they were nothing at all. By whatever route you came, you are where you are. You got here. How you got here is only a guess too. You may have gotten here by some undisclosed way and not the way you think. The tracing of your life does nothing more than trace it as you are able. It is not an instruction book. And it doesn't leave a trail for someone else.

You wended your way. That's all you know. But perhaps there is great wisdom here. Perhaps your life unfolded just right. Whatever you may think, perhaps it did. Most likely it did. Most likely you are right now at the right spot at the right time. Mostly likely you are not out of place but in place.

What you saw as obstacles may have propellers forward.

Whatever situation you find yourself in now, bless it. It is yours. And it was given to you. Whether you sought it or not, you received it. Do not push it away. And if it is not to your liking, simply lean another way.

All good things come to you. The good that comes may not be the good you sought. Perhaps the gift you receive does not please you. Do not throw it away. Lift it up, and underneath you may find a treasure waiting for you. You had to find it amidst all the wrappings and you had to open it up. It was a treasure hidden only until you opened it.

What treasure in life will you open today?

You are the key that opens all treasures.

You are the key. And you are the treasure.
