The Bulletin Board of Life

God said:

You are here on Earth to expand. Accept that you are here to expand, and you will not balk so much. Whatever you are called on to do, do without to-do. You are not here to fuss.

Whereas on some level you may decide what is thumbtacked on the bulletin board of life, you cannot pick and choose all that is up there. You can’t tear some papers off and not deal with them and leave up only what you favor and deal with that. The bulletin board of life posts what is there for you to tend to.

Sometimes the order of events is not your preferred choice. You may not be able to postpone. A car pulls up now, and you have to get in or miss your ride. You may not have the choice as to which car and when and which corner and what speed it goes in. What is always your choice, beloveds, is how you look at your choices. The manner in which you respond is always your choice. In this you have great latitude.

It is as if the universe has presented you with a meal off the menu. Eat your beets. Then you will have a clean plate for the next meal that is served. You have free will and free choice, just not always to the extent you would like.

Sometimes you are served your favorite dessert. Sometimes you are served broth with crackers, bread with water, or only water. You are always served something in life. You are never without choice. Your outlook is always your choice. Your view of life is your choice. You can be sweet, sour, or bitter as you choose. Everything in life is not foisted upon you, beloved.

You can accept with good grace. You can storm and refuse as well.

Why not be gracious to life now? Make a contribution. You will choose which shoes you will wear today. You may have ten pair to choose from or only two, and still you choose. You may choose to polish your shoes, or you may not. In the same way, you choose your moods. Even if you have no shoes, why would you choose belligerence or resentment when you can choose no shoes with good grace?

When you are at someone’s house, and they serve you water, do you refuse? You can prefer wine all you want, and yet you accept what is set before you graciously, for water it is you were served. For what gain would you not drink it? For what gain would you protest? It is plain manners to drink the water, and it is also plain common sense.

When you are the guest, you accommodate the host. And when you are the host, you accommodate your guests. On Earth, you are guest and host at the same time. The universe serves you, and you serve it. It is not that you take turns. It is that you are simultaneous, much like the relationship that you and I have. It’s not that We play roles. It is that we are reciprocal. Let Us be refreshing, one to the other.

See the choices strewn around you. You can choose to feel disappointed. You can choose to find merriment. This is far greater advice than making the best of things. Making the best of things implies that they are not so good and that you will close your eyes to the fact that you have been deprived of something. Let go of the idea of deprivation. Great blessing is here now.

Wine is good. Water is also.
