Nancy O. to God:

Hi, God, how do we become sick? I know there are opportunities for illness around all the time. Some people get colds every week and some rarely. We chalk it up to individual constitution. But how do some of us open ourselves to severe illness and others only benign? How do our beliefs about You and ourselves contribute to wellness or illness?

I cannot thank You enough for choosing to be my personal mentor through Heavenletters! It is a fantastic way to learn in such a close apprenticeship!

With undying faith and gratitude.

God to Nancy O.:

My dear Nancy, all illness attempts to heal, so in that way, all illness is benign. It bears no malice. It means to release what needs to be released or to isolate what needs to be isolated and thus protect your body. It also calls attention where attention is needed. Illness means no harm.

There are many many contributing factors.

Some say constitution. Some say genes. Some say environment. Some say karma. Some say lessons. Some say thinking patterns. Some say words used. Some say luck and so on.

To human perception, it must be luck one way or another. To whom you were born. Where you live. Your way of life altogether. What miracle worker you find or can afford.

And, yet, illness is not random any more than accidents. There are no accidents. You've heard that before.

At the same time, We must be careful about attaching judgment to illness. All are innocent, Nancy. The old man's body that becomes ill is as innocent as the baby's. The only difference is that the old man has lived longer and experienced more.

We must remove the idea that the Good escape illness and the Bad don't. It's not like that.

At the same time, each is responsible for his own illness as well as his own well-being.

One rampant cause of illness is belief in it. My children give it much credence. You try to escape it with a pill or a disinfectant. If illness has shown itself, you get an injection.

If TV commercials did not describe the danger signals and ways to mask the symptoms, illness would not pursue you so much.

Believe in the curative powers of your own body and My power to heal, and you will enjoy greater health. Believe in health! Advertise it.

Illness is worshipped. My children bow down to it. Whole temples are erected to it, and these temples and the good people who work in them are dependent upon illness for their sustenance.

Believe this: Attention on illness promulgates it.

My son Jesus did not see illness. He saw My light. He saw health, and woe disappeared. How powerful was his vision.

Any illness can be cured in an instant. I do not say all will. I say they can, and they may be. I say they certainly have been and will again.

If the energy that goes into illness or fear of it were turned instead into attention on love, illness would leave the face of the earth.

If there were no words for illness or pain, they would not be. They are concepts that materialized. Health and joy also materialized.

I want to say that there are very good practitioners of medicine. Their intention, focus and love bring healing. Their medicines and surgeries would not do much without the power of the giver's attention. The patient relies on My strength through the doctor.

I must comment on the word "patient". In this context, it is such a passive word. The patient lies back and someone else comes in to do the healing. Heal thyself. And know Who the Healer is.

Gloria to God:

Karen has said that people do not die from illness. They die when their time has come.

God:

That is true. The time comes for the soul to rise.

Gloria:

Do we think then that we need an excuse to die?

God:

It could be.

Gloria:

Dear God, do we create crime the same way we create illness?

God:

Yes.

Gloria:

The cure is the same?

God:

Yes. Love cures.

Fear fragments. Love makes whole.

Gloria, if tomorrow the world could be free of illness and crime, there are those who would be disappointed.

Gloria:

And poverty?

God:

The same.

Swing your attention around to the Highest.

Nancy L. to Abby:

Dear Abby, thank you so much for your questions. God is right. I am in my 50's, and I have the same questions. I am finally learning who I am. I am learning that I don't need anyone but God, and I can enjoy both being alone and enjoying the company of whatever friends are in my life at this time.

Thank you for sharing with us.
