Forgive the Past

Gloria to God:

Dear Almighty Father, Sandra called me last night, and I tell You I LIKE her. Our talk also reminded me of a perspective other than mine.

To me, it's like normal that Jill and Gita and Brad want to move somewhere, that Jill might not have money to replace a missing front tooth etc. To Sandra, they seemed like vagabonds, and it was foreign to her that someone wouldn't have money for the dentist.

So many people pulled up stakes to come together to create world peace. I am one of them. So many people couldn't find work here, or work that supported them adequately.

It wasn't a question of sacrifice. No one gave up anything. Like me, they did what they wanted.

Ostensibly I left public schoolteaching to go on a course, later another program etc., but I don't think I could have continued anyway.

Once in a while I have thought if I could have stayed another ten years, I could have taken early retirement, and I'd be in clover now, God, financially speaking. But I also know I couldn't have stayed; I would have perished somehow.

When I applied for social security, the lady over the phone asked me if I had taken a vow of poverty. I don't know if that was a question on the list of questions or her own question, that gives You a picture!

There are people who came here and started their own businesses and made fortunes for themselves and others here. Leaving our past lives didn't have to mean struggle and poverty.

I know I couldn't have missed this adventure for the all the money in the world.

Anyway, that talk with Sandra accomplished two things for me. It reminded me of how the world sees things. Sandra also gave me an audience. She encouraged me to write "me" here. She said she learned a lot from my human input as well as from Your Divine.

When I first read Neal Walsh's first Conversations with God, his comments annoyed me, and I wanted to hear only what You had to say, so that influenced me to say as little personally as possible.

I am sure I am not writing this to tell You anything that You don't already know. I am writing it for my own clarification and easing, and also for Sandra.

Different perspective have always interested me. To me it's odd to not have taken meditation courses, to have known certain great souls, not to have moved here and there, pulled up roots, and, in a relative sense, to have left my past.

Dear Father, what will You say?

God:

So many worlds within the same world. Each person creates his own. Two people in the same neighborhood live in different worlds. Two people in the same house do. You and Lauren do not share the same worlds, even though Lauren has much of the same history you do.

Each person creates his own reality and his own norms.

When you taught school, that was most of the world. It was as if the superintendent of schools ruled the universe.

Worlds expand, however. There is always expansion whether you stay in the same spot or not.

Each chooses his own world.

From Dr. Deady, Superintendent of Schools, from a leader of peace, from the teachings of your parents, from your world conception, you have expanded to Me, the Creator of the universe, and you have seen that all of these exist within you.

You can let your world be as big or as small as you choose.

And one can only be where he is — where his thoughts are — at any given moment. Everything is inside. It is illusion that the outside exists apart from your mind-set. The outside world is your creation.

Your mind has cast pictures on a screen, and that is the movie of your life and the world you move in.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 334:
"Today I claim the gifts forgiveness gives. I will not wait another day to find the treasures that my Father offers me…God's Voice is offering the peace of God to all who hear and choose to follow Him. This is my choice today…I seek but the eternal. For Your Son can be content with nothing less than this…"

Gloria to God:

I feel from this, dear God, how I must forgive myself for ignorance, stupidity, error, holding resentments, not expressing myself, my smallnesses, my judgements, my lies, not paying my debts, overeating, selfishness and so on and so on. But how do I do it?

God:

You moved to different physical environments in your life. You moved cross-country a few times. You left your hometown.

There is a section of your mind called the Past. Leave it there. Move to the section called Today. How did you leave Springfield or San Francisco? You did not sit thinking, "How do I move?" You did not wait for intervention. You packed, made arrangements. It was in your power to do that.

It is in your power to pack the accumulation of your past thoughts. Pack them in a box. Wrap it tight with packing tape. Address the box to Forgiveness, and ship it out.

Perhaps you have several boxes. Pack enough mental boxes until you are satisfied. Then watch them being taken down a mechanized ramp. You can watch them go until they are out of your sight. Then you can wipe your hands clean of them.

It is not even that you have to forgive yourself. Forgive these pockets of energy that you created. Bless them on their way.

Forgiving yourself seems like too huge an enterprise. Forgive the errors, the ignorances and so forth. Forgive the past. Let it go back to where it came from. It has longed to leave your side. Let reproach go down the slide. Self-blame. Any blame. Any unuseful thought.

Have a bird take them up and carry them over mountains to disintegrate in the air. These are paltry thoughts. They are not even yours any longer. They are will o' the wisps. Let them go. The energy and power I gave you will be intact.

Make room for new. Out with the old, in with the new.

Gloria to Mother Divine:

Dear Mother Divine, what will you tell me this early morning?

Mother Divine:

Wake to yourself. You are dawning. How beautiful to walk through life with God as your Companion, with God as your Witness, with God as your Life. You are taking a walk with God. Where exactly are you going? You will know when you get there. All is being readied for you.

Later…

Gloria to God:

Dear God, I remembered what Karen said about people asking for help because I have this blessed connection to You, and I think Sandra wants something for her and her husband.

I sensed that David has a soggy heart. What would You like me to do to help heal his heart?

God:

David feels too weak to be connect to Me. Tell him I have the strength for him. Tell him if he were even in a coma, he could reach Me, and I him. David does not need to throw in the towel. He can more than hang on to life. He can breathe it, his heart can pump it, and he can enjoy his years on earth.

Just as someone needs a spring in his step, David needs a spring in his heart. Just as one needs to lift his eyes to see, David needs to lift his heart up. Perhaps he will envisage his heart as a vibrant beating drum, a valuable violin, and his lungs a beautiful accordion. Get them playing and move the fluid in his heart.

In a way, David has given up on his heart, put it on the shelf, rather hidden it behind him, or himself behind it. David may feel a victim of his heart, but he has let his heart down. No wonder his heart is sluggish.

Now, Gloria, let your breathing be the circulation of David's heart. Your breathing will vitalize his heart. Your breathing is improving the drainage of his heart and removing stagnant accumulations.

It is like with your breathing, Gloria, you are rowing a boat, and the rowing is charging up David's heart.

You are breathing and pumping his heart for him right now to remind his heart of how it can best work.

The color is better now. It flushes better. The blood is purer.

David is not to clutch his heart. He can place his hand affectionately over it. Take your hand, Gloria, and rub the skin over his heart clockwise.

His heart needs encouragement. It needs to be cheered on.

It will be good for David to have gentle allover massages. Foot reflexology will be good for David's heart. David can massage his own hands. Where he finds pain on his hand, he can press for ten seconds.

I, God, am placing a pendulum in David's heart that will help his heart to have a firm steady beat.

The psychology of the heart is important for David. Let his heart know it is still in the running and has not been given up on. His is a heart of love, and now his heart can love itself and be renewed.

That is it for now.

Gloria:

And for Sandra's eye, dear God, her eyelid that was operated on?

God:

Sandra has been looking upon pain and fear for some time. Her eyes are tired of it.

Her eyelids are like window shades. Sometimes it is hard to lift the eyelids and see what there is to see.

Sandra cannot shut the light out, however. Open or closed, her eyes see. Sandra sees with her heart.

Sandra can rest her eyes. She can voluntarily keep them closed as she wishes. And she can open them as she wishes.

Sandra has much good and happiness coming to her. She is a deservant soul, and she will come to know Me very well in this lifetime.

Sandra has her eyes on the world. Now let her eyes look at Me with her gracious willingness. All is well for Sandra. Lovely is her name. Beloved is her soul. Holy is her heart.
