Deeply Desiring Oneness with God…

God said:

Naturally, you feel a sadness at the idea that your individuality will disappear, that you will no longer exist, you, this individuality that you have become so tied to, this individuality that sets you apart. Your individuality has been your signature. If your individuality doesn’t exist, you wonder what is left. If you, as you know yourself, are gone, then you are no longer separate.

You are sure you have deeply desired Oneness with Me, yet, at second thought, if that means you disappear, you’re not so sure. You have depended upon your name Fred or Alice and your ties and all the ruffles of you. They seemingly hold you up. The truth is that, although you may not adore every bit of your life, you really do adore your identity in the world. You like to hear your name. It makes you turn around, and you are pleased. You have been noticed. You have been singled out. When you win the lottery, you have been singled out. You want to be One with Me, and, at the same time, you do like being singled out.

Deep in the shadows of your heart, so attached are you to your individuality, so affected are you by that which makes you stand out from everyone else, you are not so sure that you want to, in effect, throw yourselves to the wolves, or, in this case, throw yourself into the brew of Oneness.

You would never be happier than in Oneness with Me, and, yet, parting is such sweet sorrow, and you are not so inclined to depart from your individuality.

Let’s face it. There is a tug of war that goes on inside you. How holy do you want to be, you wonder. What about those nights on the town with the boys? What about movies and books and fish? Are you going to have to give up your favorite foods as well? What about celebrations? If you were One with Me, you would really have to let go of the past. Could Oneness be a limitation, after all?

I assure you that Oneness is expansiveness. Individuality is a border. Individuality is a limit. Oneness is not. In Oneness, do not think that you are giving up. There is a difference between giving up and letting go. A time comes when toy trains aren’t so important to you as once they were. You do not and cannot give up that which you have already passed by.

Oneness is not sacrifice, beloveds. In any case, Oneness is ordained. It is not for you to weigh and sort. It is not like you are going on a long trip and have to decide what to take and what to leave behind. You are going to a new pasture, and what is there that you have to take with you? Honestly, you don’t have to bring the relative world along. Enjoy the relative while the relative is yours. You will enjoy Oneness a hundred-thousand-million times more. In Oneness, it is not an option to enjoy or not to enjoy. Besides, enjoy is too small a word for the joy of Oneness in Excelsis Deo. In fact, there is no word for the ecstasy of Oneness. Where Oneness is, there is no language as you know language. Well, there is the language of love which you understand instantly. You discover what love is and how much of it you are.

Don’t worry about taking your toe out of the water you have dipped it in. In My metaphor, you trade in your toes for wings. You turn in your toys for the ecstasy of Oneness with All That Is, and you are not making a decision at all. You are ready. Really, it is not a biggie.

Could Oneness be a limitation…?

Yes, if oneness and individuality are set against each other, everything is limitation, limitation all around. So, individuality can't be different from oneness but clinging to what I perceive as "my individuality" clearly can. (Well, it can't, of course; nothing can really be different from oneness, but in clinging I create the impression of difference.)

There is a difference between giving up and letting go. Yes, in giving up, individuality is pried from my hands while in letting go, awareness of oneness simply increases and individuality looses its fascination to the same degree. We'll probably be individuals without individuality, individuals who respond to their names but without any idea of selfhood. And whether the body drops off or does not or both or neither will not be a big deal at all.

It is true, as things are now, my individuality is my signature and important to me. Not yet securely established "in" oneness, I would object to my signature being erased. Fear of physical death is really deep distress at the prospect of not having seen oneness before my individuality is taken away from me. Something inside knows that when I see oneness, individuality will not even be worth a shrug.

But seeking to overcome or outsmart my indiviuality by all kinds of tricks I use to "forget" myself is putting the lever in the wrong place and engages me in endless inner discussions on the why and the how of this age-old ill-conceived project. I know, I have spent decades on it. During those decades, if someone had told me that the solution is in a simple, gentle longing that could be called an intention or a prayer, I would have had a hard time suppressing a smug smile. As it turns out, I was wrong. Longing, it turns out in my life, is far more powerful than all the psychological and spiritual technology in China (not to speak of my or anyone's spculations, hypotheses or theories and even less of what we think is sure knowledge or even deep realization). Dear God, help me become quiet enough for reality to get a chance to tell itself and in its own words or non-words what it is. Help me become quiet enough for all of my filters to fall away.

To Be Holy is Oneness with God

Your story about Deeply Desiring Oneness with God is okey. To be holy is wonderful especially when you are in the presence of God when working, when eating, when playing, when thinking and many other instances of our daily acitivities.
We are One with God because we have a purpose and that is to conform with the will of God. The will of God for us is to be holy. The word " HOLY " means -

H - Heaven is an
O - Outstanding Oneness and
L - Life Everlasting with
Y - Yahweh and Yeshua

Yes, we achieve everlasting life and oneness with God in Heaven because we are holy. Holiness is oneness with God.

Gloria just made George steaming mad!

I talk about George and who George really is. I use George to write these comments but I do the writing, George just watches and hopes for a remark from Gloria, or Jochen or Jim or Chuck or Normand.

The reality of George is George's way of believing in the fake body-world and the identity thing that comes with duality. I, who use George as my vehicle know that I am a light BEING and that George is an 86 year old piece of meat that's made of dust and to dust will return in a few short years..

I will continue my journey as I return to my Source. George wants to live forever, but he's temporal and bound for what we call death. I am eternal and have enjoyed George. Now I am approaching the Golden Ladder to every where and to ONENESS. I love that.

I was just teasing about George being steaming mad. George is learning from Heaven Letters right along with me.

George, sort of

Choice as an escape

"You are sure you have deeply desired Oneness with Me, yet, at second thought, if that means you disappear, you’re not so sure."

How could be expressed more clearly what a split mind is? And how can a mind splits if not in believing that it is separate and consequently that Heaven presents itself to the mind also as separate. We desire Oneness because we don't have the choice. Even when we think that a thousand of choices are confronting us, there is really only one choice to make. And even this only seems to be a choice. Choice seems to be only the obvious escape from what appears to a split mind as opposites.

"In any case, Oneness is ordained."

The idea of individuality is just the opposite of Oneness. Even if the word itself "individuality" means "indivisibility", in the relative world, it is totally divisible and divided into separate parts. The illusion of "differences" is based on the false premise of divisibility, hence separation. Because Oneness means Sameness and the same cannot be different, and what is One cannot have separate parts (like the seaming body).

In the relative world, Oneness cannot be understood because the personal mind only understands through opposites. To a certain extent, the concept of a Oneness joined as one is meaningless. So if we have the deep desire of Oneness with God, it is because in the sane part of our mind, it is what we really want. But in the split mind, there is that tiny mad desire to be individualized at all cost. We could call it the "going downtown area" of the mind, to paraphrase God. But God knows that if it can't be understood, it can be taught. And that is what He does.

Sacrifice is also a key idea. Sacrificing our individuality for being all joined into Oneness. Do we want to keep private thoughts, private relationships, private secrets, private spaces, private dark zones, private desires? Sacrifice is the pivot upon which all compromise, all desperate attempts to strike a bargain, and all conflicting desires achieve a seeming balance. The central theme of sacrifice is that somebody must lose something. We must admit then that the focus of individuality is the body. What is fear of death if not the fear of losing your individuality/identity through the disappearance of your body? It appears also that to desire Oneness must signify the sacrifice of your life through the sacrifice of your body.

Finally, individuality is built on what we have forgotten while Oneness rests on what we are in the process of remembering.

We have to desire Oneness above all even if we don't remember what it is to be One with God and all our brothers. It is the deep desire to become One that can trigger that remembrance. We still oppose our will, which is our will to individualize, to God's will because we don't recognize that our real will is God's will, according to the unchangeable law of Sameness.

There must be a stench of guiltiness in the constitution of individuality, because individuality is always insecure if not fearful.

What opposes to individuality is the reality that there is nothing outside us. That is what we must ultimately learn, for it is how "in My metaphor, you trade in your toes for wings." Heaven is not a place nor a condition. It is an awareness of perfect Oneness. Trying to maintain or to save our individuality means that we cannot access the Knowledge that there is nothing else outside, inside and within.

It is, indeed, no biggie and

It is, indeed, no biggie and I welcome it. I have been there and it is going home to reclaim everything that is bliss for me. I love these Heaven Letters....and if I weren't in the midst of putting finishing touches on my own site, I would have more time to spend here. Would the wonderful person, whose focus has been here on Heaven Letters for years, mind if I put my new website address here when I make a comment? Maybe it's not the right thing to do. I don't know what protocol would be. With love, Lynne
