A Sailboat Sailing Across the Ocean Blue

God said:

If you want peace in your life, you can have it. If you want storms, you can have them. You can have whatever you want.

You wanted Me. You got Me. Long before you knew the words for what you wanted, you wanted Me, just as I wanted you Who art My Very Self.

You know a simple word like peace. You know a longer word like equanimity that means the evenness of peace. You can bring to you whatever you want, long or short.

Maybe it takes more than asking in order for you to receive what you want. Maybe what you have to do is to decide what it is you want.

If you want equanimity, if you really do, if you really do choose peace over emotion and drama, the likelier it is that you will have it.

If you can have ups and downs, you certainly can have life on an even keel. If you like upset more than you like calmness, you can have upset. If you like calmness more than you like upset, you will have calmness. What do you want? What do you most desire? Whatever you call to yourself, you can have. It’s yours.

If you are sailing a sailboat across the Ocean Blue, you pull the sails in the direction you want to go. If you want the squalls, you lean one way. If you want the calms, you lean another way.

Here’s what you need to know: The calms are not doldrums. Have you perhaps thought they were? Have you perhaps thought that a life without sturm und drang would be stilted, boring, and ineffectual? No, not at all. Such a life will be enlivening and thrilling. Great wonders will come along with such a life.

What do you want? It may be that you would like everything, or anything you want as you want it.

There may be a point at which you make a decision, beloveds, and then your life follows your decision. Do you want brazen sensation, or do you desire to simple sterling joy that stirs and settles your heart at the same time? Do you prefer hanging from a cliff, or biting your nails more than you want equanimity? Equanimity carries a different kind of joy, deeper and wider, perhaps more than you may be able to imagine at present.

Equanimity is not barren. It is not empty. Equanimity is full of exquisite wonderment. It’s not a wild ride. It’s not a roller coaster ride, yet it is a ride.

Perhaps you ask Me for peace at the same times you chart a wild pace. You know what I’m talking about. You may not want change. You may want what you have been having, even while you are dismayed by it.

Peace does not mean dull colors. Like flowers, peace comes in all colors. Peace is not drab. Not all noise is music, yet music can come in all sounds. There is vitality in peace. There is stimulation in peace, only peace is not raucous. Peace is a party, only it is not a wild party.

Look, I am here. I am not shy. Dance with Me.

Harmony is refreshing. You don’t have to drink champagne. You don’t need a revved-up motor. You don’t have to shiver or shake. You don’t have to ride the rapids. You can swim in a lagoon. You don’t have to wear an animal print. One color can be enough. You don’t have to knock someone’s socks off. You can treasure quietness. You don’t have to play all your cards in one shot.

Remind yourself that there is really no time, and, therefore, nothing that you have to fill time up with.
