A New Day, A Blessed New Year

God said:

This day is not the thrill a minute you would have liked it to be. It may have become just another day. That is a fate that no day should have.

All days long for you to joyously receive them. If you cannot jump for joy, at least get out of dread or drear for the day or days or years to come. Lay out a red carpet. Have a heart. The day is at your beck and call. It looks for direction from you. Do not leave it to its own devices. Help it out.

Be a giver to the day before you. Pull it toward you. Do not be passive. Be an eager greeter to the day I have sent to you. It is a present before you. It is a reward to you. Acknowledge it for what it is. As with all gifts, it waits for you to open it. Greet it favorably. Open the door to today wide. Let it in. Embrace it.

A day does not have moods. You have moods. A mood does not grab you. You grasp it. You hold on to your mood for dear life. Moods are not dear. Days are.

Pay more attention to the day than you do to your mood. If your mood is dark, take out another crayon.

Days are not the same. And you need not be the same either.

When your heart feels low, let it be raised.

If your child were sad, what would you do?

Do the same for yourself? Bring in some happiness and bless your day with it.

When your heart feels empty, perhaps you have been spending it too much. Perhaps you have been a spendthrift with it. Perhaps you have given your heart as if it were of no consequence. Perhaps you have frittered it, left it to fend for itself at the mercy of all recorded events. Restore your heart today by acknowledging its greatness. It is of great account. Love your own heart. Let it beat of its own accord. Let it charm you.

Or perhaps you have frozen your heart, isolated it, put it in storage for a while. Today is the day to take it out. Let it thaw naturally. Do not urge it on. Just allow it.

A heart feels. Who has said you must never be sad? Who has said that it is not allowed? Let your mind encourage your heart, not disparage it. Make room for your heart. Do not scold it. Feed it poetry.

Resolve today to be gentle with yourself. Resolve to not ask so much of your heart. Resolve to love your heart. Do not give it too much to carry. Unburden it. Picture unresolved contents of your heart being removed. You leave them at the curb, and they are picked up. Now they are gone.

A heart is meant for love. Store nothing in your heart but love. Let anything else go. Give Me your heart right now, and I shall breathe life into it. I will remind it of its purpose, and you will laden it no more.

On this new day, I give you a new heart. It is clean and pure and true. This is your heart now. It will guide you to new heights. Do you feel a new beat? Do you feel the light and the strength flowing from your new heartedness? Be of good cheer. I bless you now to your new year.
