A Great Being of Light

God said:

If there were one theme to your life, what would it be? If you had to pick one out, what would you pick? If there were only one aspect of life that you could choose, seriously, what would you choose?

If there were only one adjective that could be applied to you, what would you want it to be? What would you choose? Kind, rich, generous, intelligent, creative, enterprising, eager, friendly, persistent, gentle, tough, outward, inward, quick, patient, fast-moving, sweet, sharp, popular, interesting, young, wise, delightful, serious, amusing, lively, alert, quiet, energetic, athletic, perceptive, far-seeing, active, thoughtful, steady, mercuric, imaginative, down-to-earth, meditative, introspective, extroverted, fanciful, sensitive, strong — have I left anything out? There must be something I haven't accounted for.

Yet, if you had to choose one word to describe you, you could not, for you know that there is more to you than any one adjective. You are many things. You are even an amalgam of opposites on some occasions.

And others, too, are not the narrow field they may seem. One is not only kind. One is not only patient. One is not only thoughtful or hasty or friendly or unfriendly. You are many things. Perhaps there is not an adjective in the world that cannot be applied to you at sometime or another, and yet there is not a single one that begins to describe you.

Beneath all the adjectives are you. You are, as I am, beyond description. For you are far more than the eye can see.

Yesterday I told you that you were in the middle.

Today I will say that you are merely at the beginning. You have hardly taken your first step. There is an arc like a rainbow you follow, and you are ascending. It is like you rest on a crescent moon, and there is a whole other side for you to traverse.

What if I said that you were the sun and moon all wrapped in one? What if I said that you were the land and the sky and the upper realms of reality? What if I said that you were the essence of existence and that your life exists for you to find that out. What if I said that there is no adjective for being? And therefore no adjective for you. That all adjectives merely circumscribe you but say nothing at all about you.

You are not a mystery. You are not an unknown quantity. You are known. I know you. And now you begin to know yourself. So far, you have only skimmed the surface. You far exceed the ripples attributed to you. You are the depths as well as the heights. You are an immense factor in the cosmos. You are integral. It has always been so. Regardless of how you see yourself, you haven't seen enough.

If you think you don't amount to much, if you think you don't count, then you have not accounted for a great force in life.

A delegate to an embassy has a mission. It may have been delegated to him, but it is his to carry. An ambassador is an ambassador of the country he represents. He carries a certain authority of what he is a representative of. He is in another land, but he represents the land he came from.

You are a delegate I sent to earth. You are part of a chain of command. You do rule the earth. You do have dominion. You may have forgotten the important part you play, but you are a functionary. You are a near star on earth, fallen from the Heavens. And now you pick yourself up, and you begin to radiate the light that has always been yours and Mine. You are a great being of light, the light that is Mine.
