There is such a fine line between something's making sense to you and its feeling right to you. Actually, they are the same, only sometimes you let someone else's sense of things sway you. When something strikes you as true, it makes sense to you and it feels right. Truth always makes sense in the heart. It is the world that does not make sense.
In the Human world, two prisoners may be condemned for the same crime, and in one case the sentence feels right to you, and in another it does not. How do you know that you are not right? Unless you have allowed yourself to become overmuch sentimental, logic notwithstanding, your heart is most likely correct.
Your heart knows things that your mind can never suspect.
Remember to ask yourself: "What is the purpose of this?" Purpose is often forgotten.
What is the purpose of punishment? Whom does the concept serve?
What is the purpose of education? Is it to inculcate and boss children or to free them to their own thought or something else altogether? What is the purpose? And what is the REAL purpose beneath the purpose? And what is your purpose?
What is the purpose in your reading Heavenletters? You may say it makes you feel good, makes you think, wakes you up, stirs your heart, opens your eyes, swivels your attention. You may say it makes you feel more honest, more intelligent, more clear, bolder. You may say it brings you closer to My heart, that it acquaints you with Me, that it establishes you with Me, that you feel My love more, that your heart and your life take a turn in an upward direction, and there are moments when you feel exultation.
What is the deeper purpose?
In order to follow My will, you must come closer so you can see what it is. When you feel far away, why would you follow the will of a stranger, and how would you know what it was anyway? Make Me not a stranger.
My Will for you was planted deep in your heart. It is still there. The heart is the entranceway. The heart is the teller of the story. The Human heart has a nose that can follow My will all the way to Heaven.
If you knew how to follow My will all the time, how happy you would be! That would be perfect alignment — you on Earth, fully aligned with God in Heaven.
And you can have that, for the code is in your heart.
You have to learn to listen well to your heart. You have to practice listening. You have to learn to hear. It is hard to listen when you don't hear. Your heart will hear when you don't interfere.
You will come to discern between a whim of yours and My message in your heart. You will come to discern between a hope of yours and a hope of Mine.
You would already be a perfect hearer of My heart that beats in yours had you not listened to others' "common sense" and taken it over Mine. I do not blame you. That is the way of things in the world. You had more confidence in another's thinking than in your own heart. You may have been trained that way. "May" is not strong enough. You most assuredly were trained that way — trained that it was noble to deny your own heart for a few crumbs of approval from someone somewhere in the world. Without knowing it, you traded truth for a tuppence of someone else's pleasure.
But now gradually you can reacquaint yourself with your own heart of truth. No one else has to believe it. Only you. That is how you become brave. You care what I think. You care what you think. And you don't care so much about what someone else thinks. You see opinions for what they are. They are a layer put on top, perhaps kindly like a blanket to keep you warm and safe, but an opinion nevertheless. Only a covering.
Truth has to be uncovered from where it lies in your heart. And you are the only one who can open your heart to the truth that lies inside.
