Dear Friends,
Normand, French translator and administrator, who has been an advocate for Heavenletters for so many years, is continuing to get better. May he be totally recovered soon and come back to Heavenletters.
Big thanks to everyone who has risen to the occasion in filling in for Normand so graciously and capably and for all your continued service. I am convinced that God has hired each and every one of us.
Every step of Normand’s responsibility was clear to one or more people so the transition was almost seamless. We were lucky.
Normand’s sudden illness has been a wake-up call. Everyone here plays an important role. We don’t want to be caught napping. We’ve got to have a business continuity plan in place. It’s like insurance. We desire to never have to use it.
We are asking for specific detailed information from everyone. How you translate is your choice yet perhaps you know something that could be helpful to other translators. For instance, Nelia, who translates Heavenletters into Portuguese, in addition to the English Heavenletters, finds it helpful to consult the French and Spanish translations.
Every other step besides translating hints, we HAVE to have.
Please be assured that this information is on a need-to-know basis and will not be posted anywhere. From our side, this information is absolutely confidential. I will have it and Santhan and Will, our two tech volunteers, will also keep the information in a safe place. In the event of an emergency, we will know with confidence exactly what has to be done and precisely how it has to be done.
Okay, for a translator, for instance, we ask you to include:
Full-time. Full-time means you translate 7 days a week as Paula translates Heavenletters into Italian and Theophil into German. Theophil has translated as many as 7 Heavenletters in one day! And when Paula travels to her home country, Finland, she translates in advance.
Partner Translators would be like Luus and Anneke who together take care of Dutch subscribers 7 days a week. One takes the even-numbered days and the other the odd-numbered days. When Anneke had emergency surgery, Luus translated for Anneke.
Part-Time Translators – There are two kinds of part-time translators:
Scheduled Part-Time translators. Philippe regularly Heavenletters into French translates 3 specific days a week rain or shine. Of course, we want to know which specific days a Scheduled Part-Time translator covers.
Unscheduled Part-Time translators would be like Elena, our Russian translator. Elena often translates three days a week yet without a set pattern.
On leave translators. This would be Felicia, Indonesian translator, who has given herself to us fully while on school vacation; Engin, Turkish translator, while she is traveling in France; and Normand, French translator, until he is fully recovered.
Intermittent Translators translate as they can. Could be very part-time. We are grateful for every translator.
There is also other information we request from every translator:
Where do you send your translations? Some send out through Mauro and Santhan. Some send out through Nancy. Some send out themselves through the official data base. Please give us all the details, including address you send to – every bit of information we might ever need.
If a translator translates in advance and stores his translations on his own computer, is there a way to store advanced translations some place where Santhan and Will have access?
We are asking translators and administrators to provide specific information so someone who might ever have to step in for you knows exactly what to do, where, how, how to get in, every single detail, step by step, and all the links.
As you see, this is also posted on the Global Translator Circle.
Unless you have exceedingly private questions, will you kindly address your questions here on the forum?
Please email your completed information to me!
For peace of mind, will you kindly send your completed information Thursday or before?
God bless you for all you do for Heavenletters and a million thanks for your being here.
With love,
Gloria
P.S. Will all part-time translators please send me your translations so I can know who is translating when? Some of you already do this, and it is so helpful to me. Thank you so much.
P.P.S. We are also looking for new translators in just about all languages whether they are languages currently translated or not. If you can help, this would be wonderful. If you are full-time translator and you like it that way, we may still need translators in your language for ebooks as well as Heavenletters that may never have been translated. God bless us all.
God said:
If you consciously want entry into Heaven, there are no doormen, no bodyguards. There is really no one who checks your entry. How could there be because you never left. But let Us say that there is a doorman, and he asks for your identification. Then I, God, say to the doorman: “She is with Me. He is with Me. I vouch for them.” Do you think I would do less?
