I've signed on to various sites through the years and usually an autoresponder sent a confirmation email acknowledging that I was added to the site. I never thought anything about it. I just figured that was how it was done.
Then Gloria asked for volunteers to welcome newcomers to the site. I was so impressed that she wanted a personal email sent to each person who signed up. It's such a little bit of time (a few minutes every day), yet such a nice thing. Since I can't translate into other languages (like dear Berit who is also welcoming newcomers), and I don't have the technical skills or time for some of the other tasks, I was thrilled to be able to volunteer for this duty.
As always, the rewards are many. I sent out only a few, and the responses came almost immediately! We are asking that if anyone who wishes to respond to do so on this forum (and providing the link). Another incredible suggestion from Gloria as another way to encourage people to post and truly become a part of this wonderful community.
And by the way, this truly is not a "duty." It's my pleasure and joy.
Here are the responses I received:
Well thank you dear Pam,
I must say I feel very welcome in this community and your email is another wonderful example of that.
Thanks for the comment on the skywriting story, yeah it is really amazing how things come together again.
Hope to read more from you, somewhere on the site.

Again, as Gloria requested, and especially as we (Berit and I) are welcoming new people in the name of Heavenletters.org, we will ask them to post responses here instead of replying to the email. So hopefully, the same warm responses will be posted here for all to enjoy.
Thank you all--Pam
