That which you admire, model yourself after. The character in others that you admire is yours. You may not have expressed it fully as yet, but it is already yours.
Many of My children want to know what their specific purpose in this life is. Carte blanche, it is to love. If you admire heroism, then know that your purpose is heroism. If you admire great wisdom, then you are to gain and give great wisdom. If you admire great kindness, then expression of heart is your destiny.
In this discussion, I am not speaking on the level of the material, and yet I do not ask you to dismiss the material either. It could be your destiny to make a fortune so that you can do good with it. Good comes in many forms, but always your destiny reveals itself in some form of love.
You can know that to be selfish is not your destiny. To be embroiled in smallness is not your destiny. To be engaged in giving is your destiny. Your only question is: What to give?
It is also possible that it has been your destiny to model what no one is to do or seem like. If you feel you are meant to be a negative model, I release you from such an obligation now. The world has had enough lessons taught by models who blessedly steer you away from their course. Know now that you are to be a shining example of that which raises you.
If every child on Earth had awareness of their value, everyone would fulfill his destiny without a thought about it. You would live it. There would be no occasion to think: “Am I fulfilling my destiny? Am I doing on Earth what I was made for?” There would be no searching because you would be living fully. Your destiny, your purpose in life, would be evident right where you are now.
Those of you in the present world who search for your purpose, you are searching for your identity. The question is not really: “ What am I supposed to do this life?” It is not really: “What am I doing here?” The question is really : “Who am I?” Your heart longs for confirmation of that which it belatedly knows as Truth.
I will confirm for you. You are a minstrel on Earth. You are a singer of My song. You lift the covers off the world to reveal which lies behind it. And what lies behind it is not the Wizard of Oz.
What lies behind the manifest world is treasure of diverse kinds, yet all bear the Name of Love.
Here lie the cooling waters and the green pastures. Here lie the bright lights of Eternity and mountains of love to be scooped up like ice cream. Here lie diamonds and rubies of love. Here lie the pathless paths you walk on. And here you are. This is the true you. Here is who you are and where you really live your life.
Your Earth life is a façade, beloveds. It is not the true goods. It is a sham. Yet amidst the sham lie the kernels of Truth for all the world to see.
And it is for you to reveal more. Enough of the shadows on Earth. Enough of its misgivings. Now you mine the nuggets of gold. You dig them up, and you hold them high for all the world to see, so that all in the world may know of the richness that lies within, that lies within you and everyone else, this vein of gold that is your destiny to hold before the world so that it may know Truth and share it with all.
