I would love to see more of your story of the highlights of your spiritual life.
Here's something I give to people before taking a Godwriting(tm) workshop:
YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
How You Got to Where You are Now
No one on Earth has had your spiritual journey. No one ever, past, present, or future, has ever experienced your spiritual journey or ever will. And you’re not done yet! You still have more to go.
In writing down your spiritual journey, you will discover more. You will discover yourself more fully as the spiritual being that you are.
A spiritual journey is not exactly the story of your life, but focuses on the highlights of your spiritual life. Emphasis on spiritual. And you don't even have to tell the whole story all at once. Perhaps one event occurs to you now that you would share with us.
The following questions and thoughts are meant to get you going:
Perhaps you think of two or three turning points.
Or maybe a single phrase someone said once, and you have never forgotten it, and somehow it may have influenced you spiritually.
Maybe your path was clear. Or maybe it had unexpected twists and turns.
As you look back, what are some of the surprises you see?
What were the greatest influences on you?
If you were to draw a map of your spiritual development, what might it look like?
What are three great things you have learned in life?
What are three dominant experiences you have had that may have been pointing to God?
What are some of the steps that brought you to the place in your spiritual life where you are now?
Is your understanding now different from your view of the actual experience at the time?
Was there any way to know back then where you would be now?
Where are you now in your spiritual journey? What do you feel?
How do you imagine your own Godwriting™ might change or add to your life? What do you want to happen?
What questions are in your secret heart to ask?
Thank you for sharing your story. Of course, even as each story is unique, it is also our common experience.
Blessings and love,
Gloria
