Gloria:
Dear God, is life for lessons? It hurts me to think that's what life is for. It doesn't seem a loving thing for that to be the case.
God:
What if the lessons are loving lessons? Lessons on how to love? Lessons on how to be great? Might you not be interested in those lessons?
Gloria:
Yes, I would. But giving lessons is like strewing obstacles in my path, and I don't see You that way.
God:
Would you agree that you are on earth to learn?
Gloria:
Yes.
God:
You would like to learn at your own pace. You would like to choose your lessons. You don't like anything imposed.
Gloria:
Yes.
God:
What if I were to say that you do choose your lessons and when? You do, dear one.
Gloria:
I remember hearing once that if we think life is full of lessons then we will be sure to be hit with lessons.
God:
Think of lessons as blessings, and then you will be sure to have blessings.
Gloria:
Dear God, I have been hit with the blessing of a broken baby toe. And I keep banging it. What am I to learn from this?
God:
What might it be?
Gloria:
My first thought is to watch where I'm going. I fell going up my front step. I was turned around talking to someone behind me.
About continuing to bang the poor toe could be that I keep banging into the same things in life again and again.
God:
What might they be?
Gloria:
Attachment.
God:
And attachment is trying to keep things as they are.
And so your wounded baby toe is trying to teach you to let life move and flow and not be bound by your ideas.
Let the baby toe remind you of freedom.
Let it remind you of love.
The one lesson after all is love.
In one form or another, that is the lesson.
We are not talking love as affection, but love as being.
You are not a helpless victim toe.
You are much more than that.
You have much more freedom of movement than your baby toe.
Your toe is limited.
It can only move so far.
You have unlimited movement.
You are bound nowhere.
Except to Me.
You are bound to Me.
We are so intimately tied.
What is a toe, Gloria?
What is a physical body?
Is it your whole life?
It serves great purpose, but the body's purpose is not your own.
Your purpose is to fly free and to bless others the same.
Your baby toe gets your attention only when it hurts.
Its hurt calls your attention from it to Me, from earth to Heaven.
Everything points to Heaven.
That is the only direction there is.
Your toe bent over backwards to teach you that.
Stop going in so many directions.
There is only one.
And your toes help you to bow down.
When you bow down, it feels good to your body.
Body is good.
The body is of earth.
The soul is of Heaven.
Maybe less attention on physical.
More on Heaven.
Gloria:
Dear God, I don't believe that I have ever been considered particularly grounded.
God:
Heaven grounds you. Not earth.
Heaven uplifts.
Be grounded in Me.
Now, here is another lesson from your toe.
You have not especially appreciated it.
You haven't found it admirable.
Now you pay attention to it, that little unnoticed stabilizer.
Appreciate it so it can get better.
It was part of My gift of a body to you.
You find fault more than you appreciate.
Now appreciate more and find fault less.
Your heart appreciates, and your mind finds fault.
You learned that it was smart to find fault.
You learned it made you better.
I say it makes you more dissatisfied.
There is no talent in being dissatisfied.
Being satisfied is a talent.
You can develop it.
Stop judging every occurrence.
Stop asking if it is good or bad or wherever on a scale.
Do not weigh.
Do not rate.
Accept.
Accept all that comes, and then it can go.
What matters cannot be kept, dear Gloria.
It may stay, but it cannot be kept.
It can stay only of its own accord, not yours.
All are free.
Remember Johanna's first Godwriting.
Read it again.
Immerse yourself more in Heavenletters.
Reread what I have said.
Pay attention to Heavenletters and where you are going, not the future, but what direction you are in.
You are in My direction.
It is where your heart pulls you.
Be pulled.
Don't drag your feet.
Open your heart and eyes more to Me.
You have beauty of nature outside your window. You just look and you receive its beauty. You do not analyze. You do not think. You do not say: "This tree has green leaves, and the wind moves its branches a certain way." You do not say that your iris flowers are purple and stand two feet tall. You do not say that the roses are red.
You say, "The roses are blooming. The iris are out." But your heart says nothing. Your heart only embraces. Your heart is like a nose that breathes in beauty. Let your eyes just breathe in beauty. Keep your mind out of it, and you will be happy.

Abby to Heavenreaders:
Wow! The Bible certainly makes an interesting subject for Heaven letters! It really generates so many questions in me for God, and I love to hear His answers. I'm glad if anyone else gets as much from them as I do! Love you all!
Jaymie to Heavenletters:
Thank you…God's answer to me yesterday about suffering makes things a lot clearer.
