Abby to God:
Dear God, I have a question for You about a specific part of the Bible. In John 3:18-19 it says, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil."
What does this mean? I don't understand it at all. I also wish to know, although I think I have an idea already, what Jesus' purpose was when he was on earth. I think maybe it was to show us that we all had the potential to be like him, but I'm not sure. Please tell me.
I wanted to say to You, while I'm at it, thank You for creating swing dancing! What a wonderful and joyful thing it is! It brings me so much joy when I allow myself to do it lightly and not worry about getting the steps right. I spent many happy hours dancing last night, thanks to You!
God to Abby:
My dear love, your interpretation of John's words is good. However, Jesus was on earth not for one reason alone. There are many purposes he and his life served. And he serves still. The beauty of My love that Christ still stirs! Not only did Christ demonstrate what you can be in your life, he demonstrates the eternal nature of life as the power of his Oneness with Me is recognized year after year.
We can say that Christ has a certain vibration or frequency. And that vibration is in you as well. We could say that Christ is God-in-Man. In the man Jesus, Christ was risen. He became Jesus, the Christ.
And so can you too. Abby, the Christ. Everyone, the Christ. Although the paths and expression will vary.
Unbeknownst to you, you do demonstrate the Christlight of My love. There are the moments when all do. The moments will become minutes and quarter-hours and so on. But do not strain for that. Just think of Me when you can, and more of My light will shine through you.
The vibration or frequency that Jesus Christ radiated on earth is also contained in his name. Jesus (the man) Christ (God's light). His name has power, especially when it is thought or spoken in love, for love multiplies itself.
Because John said it and recorded it and it was included in the New Testament does not necessarily mean his gifted words as put are literally true. He wrote his testament years later. He wrote it in a language open to interpretation and retranslation and reinterpretation and so on.
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned." Believe is not exactly right. Believing is not an act of will or decision. One can decide that he would like to be like Christ and look to his goodness. One may come to believe. And more than believe, one can come to know Christedness and live it. But one cannot automatically believe.
Anyway you look at that statement, however, it is true, for I condemn no one. Condemn My child for his ignorance? his error? Condemn him for the free will I gave to him?
The world condemns; I do not. I give indemnity. No matter how My light in one may be dimmed to himself and to the eyes of the world, I see his light brandishing forth, burning bright. I see the wholeness of My children. I abandon none. I certainly send none away. For I am always with you. I cannot be always with you sometimes. The world condemns; I do not.
Good Heavens, Abby, there are My children in the world who have never heard the name Jesus Christ. Are they any less My child than one who has?
There are My children in the world who love other Christ's by different names.
What this passage perhaps means is that it is valuable in worldly life to know that there is more to it than what you see. There is light unseen. Believe in light, have some clue to it, and more light will shine in your life.
It is good to admire Jesus the Christ. It is good to look to good. It is good to desire awareness of Christ. All this is good. I am for it. By all means, love and follow Christ, for he will lead you to yourself. And to Me.
What I would not recommend is that you separate people into the acceptable and the unacceptable. All the relative life is about separation. Separation is not of Me.
My children narrow their vision by making categories and crediting or discrediting them. That is judgment. Judgment is not so wonderful for the judged any more than for the judger. "Judge not, for so shall ye be judged."
When there is judgment, the judger has already judged himself. Judge, and you have judged yourself. You have constricted your veins and your vision. You have sentenced yourself to a narrow confine.
Judgment is not of Me. Condemnation follows judgment. I do not condemn. Nor do I set up judgment, the precursor to it.
I also do not judge the judgers.
I love them as well as I love those who never heard the name of My son Christ. No one is lost to Me.
Nor do I give verdicts. I do not pound the gavel.
That light has come into the world is unalterably true. The world is made of light. It is made of the light of My love. But men see the darkness. They miss seeing the light of My love and so the awareness that they are that.
Man's deeds are often not in their best interest. If men love darkness, it is because they do not see the light, for who would prefer darkness to light if they but saw it? The darkness comes before the deeds. The deeds do not cause the darkness. They may keep one in the dark, but the deeds are not the cause. The darkness is the cause.
Darkness is untruth. Despair and loneliness and hate and anger are not true.
Light is truth. Oneness is truth.
So Christ invites all to truth. His light is truth. Carry his light. It is the light and the truth that matter. Christ means light. He does not care if people follow his name. He cares that they follow light.
